Such a sweet little restaurant in Athens, Georgia. I never imagined I would want to order a grilled cheese sandwich at a restaurant but this places makes the best! You can choose between the spinach or tomato. I always get the tomato but I can imagine the spinach is just as delicious.

Don't let this vegetarian restaurant scare you if you're a meat eater! The Grit has a wealth of fabulous options for all tastes. Great noodle bowls, wonderful soups, tasty side dishes that change daily, really something for everyone. The food is all so tasty you'll never miss the meat. The staff here are always so friendly and helpful and are... More

I tried this restaurant for the first time. I am a meat and potatoes girl, but I wanted to try it. Very nice. Even though it is vegetarian, I enjoyed the vegetable plate. Also had the daily soup. All was very good. Sweet tea was good, not too sweet. Nice menu choices. Waitress was great, friendly and helpful. Try it... More

We always go here with our vegetarian family. Our Seattle kids love coming here. We love to get some ideas of cooking for our veggie family.

My early morning flight out of Atlanta was cancelled and so I had a morning to spend exploring Athens. Found this place online and it was near my hotel. It's not right in the center of everything, which is nice. I had a nice leisurely walk. The Grit is simple in layout and there only a few customers, some of... More

We were there with another couple who are frequent customers. Every one of our dishes was lukewarm at best and they should have been served hot. The hoisin sauce greenbeans seem to have ben left out to dry for a long time. They were hard and impossible to eat. Every entrée we had was barely warm, and nothing had any... More

Had lunch here mid-week. Stopped in on a cold winter day. Great selection of vegetarian fare. Really did not miss the meat at all! Had the Mid-E platter and the vegetable plate. Very reasonable. Hummus was very good. LOVED the stuffed tomato. Brussel sprouts were a little undercooked, but the mustard sauce was delicious.

My friend and I ate at The Grit today 11.12.14. He had never eaten at a vegetarian restaurant before. He had the Black Bean Chili with sour cream and onion toppings. I had the Linguine with Roasted Pepper Cream Sauce, garden salad with house dressing, Focaccia bread, and to end the meal, Elvis Cake. It was middle afternoon and there... More
