Good Food, Average Service.

Stopped in for a quick lunch. Waited up front a few minutes to be seated. After I ordered I didn't see my waitress again until I was done. I got one refill in the 35 mins I was in there. It was not crowded so I'm not sure why it took so long. The food was good, nothing out of... read more

Moving my son into sophomore year. Campus is deserted as it was a day before general move in. Needed to grab a quick bite as he had to go back to band practice. Went to a different restaurant at first. Crazy storm caused power outage. Had to find another restaurant. Landed at The Grill. Place was deserted due to crazy... More

Got in late to Athens and walked around for awhile looking for a place to eat. The Grill is open 24 hrs and we were surprised that around 11pm they were pretty busy. Service was good and the cheese fries hit the spot, would come back.

We came here for breakfast on a Tuesday morning about 10:45 am. It was not busy at all and our server was very helpful and attentive. I had basic fair (bacon, eggs and grits with toast). The price was surprisingly not bad. I enjoyed the food. Give this place a shot.

I love that we have a 24 hour retro diner in Athens. It could be such a great place, but it really falls short. The bathrooms - yuck, very nasty. In fact, I almost didn't order food after my visit there. The service - not good. I'm sure they are used to drunk, disorderly customers, but in the middle of... More

Anytime you go to a Georgia game you have to visit The Grill. My step father-n-law took us here after a game and I was not very excited about it. It was loud, a little dirty, and a bit old. But then we got our food! The hamburgers were awesome and the milkshake was amazing! After that I understood why... More

Good menu selection, good quality food, however, if you can get past the way the waiters and cooks appear with all the nose rings and tattoos and if you don't have to use the restroom you might like the food. the milkshakes are very good, but I recommend getting the food to go. The restroom is the filthiest I have... More

Every town needs a standard diner that is open 24 hours a day. I used to frequent The Grill at 2am after dancing at Boneshakers but that was 20+ years ago. Now I take my kids. The milkshakes are still as awesome as ever. The Grill is an Athens institution.

The Grill is a great inexpensive diner right downtown. The hamburgers and turkey burgers were wonderful as were the fries. And the homemade japple pie a la mode was to die for! The shakes and malts are supposed to be terrific as well as the breakfasts. Definitely check it out!
