Quality food and presentation...good service

Athens has an abundance of high quality restaurants. I would say Five & Ten is in the top 10% but not the top 3-4%. I was there with a large party. I think there were 10 of us. We were seated in a front room and though we were not overly loud, I would guess the other diners wished we... read more

I have wanted to go here for a very long time, but dinner is a bit pricey so I never got around to going. Last week I went for brunch and it was absolutely amazing! The eggs Benedict is perfect... Eggs perfectly poached! The breakfast plate was also amazing. And oh man that pimento cheese tart!!! definitely recommend for a... More

Our experience was as good as we expected....maybe better....and we had high expectations. We passed on "Raman Night" (evidently an Athens "thing") and opted for the three course $36 fixed price menu of which there were two. We chose the scallops appertizer, pork tenderloin and key lime torte. Yum!!! Our companions chose the other fixed price option....they seemed to be... More

Our service at the bar and table were both top notch, and the atmosphere is certainly conducive to a romantic evening. While the quality of the food was excellent, I thought it missed the mark a bit for the prices on the menu. For example, my strip steak was perfect, but the accompanying melange of white gravy with whole grain... More

We went recently with two other couples. I couldn't hear the waiter, and I had to shout so he could hear my drink order. The room was full, loud, and impossible for anyone in our group to hear anything that was said. This was to be a very special evening, but it was awful. The food was decent, but most... More

I had dinner here by myself while in Athens for work last week. I have been to Empire State South in Atlanta, and am a fan of chef Acheson's cooking. I arrived at 8:30pm after a drive from Savannah, and was both hungry and thirsty. I sat at the bar and enjoyed a delicious cocktail while I decompressed from the... More

Went to Athens for a Georgia football game. Had dinner the night before at the Five & Ten and really enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and the service. Our waiter was top shelf!

Definitely one of (if not THE) best restaurants in Athens. Right on Milledge in a charming renovated over sized old bungalow. among the stately mansions (many fraternity/sororities). Close to Little 5 Points. Chef Hugh Acheson's creations are delicious and delightful twists on New Southern cuisine. Well worth the visit.

We have given Five and Ten a try on several occasions, and have yet to see what everyone is so crazy about. Tonight we had a reservation at 7:15 and arrived about 7:00. The place was packed and the parking lot full. Said something to the hostess and her reply was "you need a reservation to eat here tonight". When... More

My daughter hosted her Bridesmaids Luncheon here. OH MY GOSH! What a wonderful place. The food, the service and the staff are top notch. Loved it!
