The restaurant was incredibly noisy and the food was ok, but not as great as we had anticipated. We were seated at a large round table which is usually great for conversation, but couldn't hear each other due to the restaurant noises all around. The bathroom situation was bad...had to wait in line for awhile.

We have heard about this restaurant for years, since its opening. We live in Atlanta, about 60 miles away. We finally got around to going. The restaurant was originally in an old "dime store", hence the name 5 & 10. They've now moved to an old house on a sorority row near the university. It's more upscale and very pleasant... More

I was very excited to visit Five & Ten as it was highly recommended. Unless you are the skinnier sister of Kate Moss or an elf or order a lot of entrees you will be going home hungry and broke. The portions are so small that after having an appetizer, entree and dessert I went home and ate again. And... More

World-class dining in a chic southern town! What could be better? Chef Hugh Acheson is the best in the South. Parking is a slight issue, although the fire station across the street is available.

Outstanding food. Great presentation, original - and a real treat to be served by a very well-trained staff.

This is my favorite of the "nicer" restaurants in Athens. I like the new location too. All the components on the dish worked together well in terms of flavor and contrast of textures.

Honestly, one of the best meals we've ever had. My husband and I were told to try Five and Ten while visiting Athens and we were not steered wrong! The food was incredible (grouper and duck) and the service was impeccable (friendly, knowledgeable). The atmosphere was elegant, but relaxed. Our oldest son was just accepted at UGA for next year.... Friends in Athens invited me for dinner at Five and Ten. It was a cool evening but the restaurant was inviting and warm in temperature and atmosphere. The restaurant is in an older home near the UGA campus but it is set up with different rooms that give the feeling of being cared for. The service staff were able to... More

Five and Ten is in a beautiful old house with high ceilings which make for good acoustics. The food is what I would call Nouvelle Southern, with portions more modest than gargantuan. The prices are among the highest in Athens, but not compared to similar quality restaurants in other parts of the country. Service is impeccable. Good wine list.

Our dinners were tasty and well prepared (shrimp and chicken entrees), though expensive for the quantity. Unfortunately, it was hard to relax, since the four of us spent the evening shouting and straining to hear one another. I'm not sure I understand how dining in a din - no matter how good the food - is considered fun!
