This is as Italian as you can get. I am native, born and raised there. It is just good. They have a great atmosphere and (note) attention to quality of key ingredients. Most pastas are made in house. Most dishes are prepared fresh every day, this is no shack with frozen lasagna that gets thrown in a microwave. The overall... More

I was in Athens for a conference recently and made reservations for La Dolce Vita based on Trip Advisor reviews. It was very nice to find a quiet restaurant in such a busy college town! The service was excellent and dinner was very good. While the entrees were not haute cuisine, the pasta was fresh and homemade and the offerings... More

Unfortunately there are few restaurants in this town as the 65-plus "pubs" cater to the beer-guzzling college students for whom anything out of the microwave oven counts as 'restaurant' food. NOT AT THIS RESTAURANT! Unfortunately located up a flight of stairs without elevator apparently available the climb is worth it. The menu is diverse (veal with tuna, veal picatta, excellent... More

Lovely restaurant nestled on the second floor overlooking a busy but quiet Intersection with comfortable jazz music as a backdrop. Food was fresh and full of flavor. The handmade pasta was/is exactly what you would want when eating Italian food. The chef did an amazing job with the lasagnette agli asparagi. It has amazing depth of flavor and something we... More

Service was timely and expert - apps were delightful - the carpaccio was so good we ordered a 2nd plate - nice atmosphere, good wine. We had several classic dishes - tortellini, gnocchi and fettuccine with meatballs - all were happy with their selections. This is a great find in downtown Athens - reasonably priced, portions ample. Would make a... More

Bread was unremarkable, but olive oil had a kick! Beef carpaccio was wonderful--perhaps a bit too much arugula, but that was easily remedied. Bruschetta was--okay, rather dry, topped simply with pieces of out-of-season tomatoes. We each had the pork loin. Servings were generous, asparagus was nice--just a hint of crispness. Moscato and cannoli for dessert--lovely! Service was attentive without overwhelming.... More

Great evening with a friend in Athens. The restaurant is right on the main street in Athens, and upstairs overlooking the street and campus. We went on the weekend so it was busy but got a reservation (good idea) and were greeted well and given a table near near the window. We started with a couple glasses of Italian wines... More

Friend and myself went to my most favorite italian restaurant in Athens . Got reservation at the last minute, and were greeted warmly on arrival. The staff was very helpful in suggesting our order, including wine. We selected two seafood dishes, one a monkfish and the other a mussel and shrimp dish. We were looking for a lighter meal and... I always enjoy eating here. It's a bit pricey (then again, I'm frugal), but I always enjoy my meal. I usually get their Strozapretti (sp?). It's a spicy pasta dish that melts in my mouth--I love it. I've eaten at the east side, west side, and downtown locations....downtown is my favorite, but all are good.
