Great food!

Food and atmosphere were great! We went for a pre-game dinner. Étouffée, red fish, carbonara and scallops were excellent. Accompanying salads just ok. Biscuits for the table were great. We'd recommend highly and will return.

Ok service is not good service. Ok service means you ask for what seems obvious: silverware, bread, a stable chair. The place was crowded. The server was really nice but it was like she just needed to start over. The host took us to our table which had one real chair and one chair that was an old yard chair.... More

In our first attempt to find George's, we passed right by its location in a strip mall by a package store. The sign was small and hard to read, but we did eventually arrive. We had to be in Athens on a Sunday at lunchtime, and George's advertised "Lowcountry Boil" sounded the most appealing of all the options that we... More

George's used to be our go-to brunch place. The last few visits have been less than satisfactory. They have been understaffed and seemed overwhelmed the last few times (longer waits for food, slower service), and the menu hasn't been updated in a while. Go to brunch for the Bloody Mary and mimosa specials but the menu items and level of... More

George's has it all. A drink selection and bar that rivals anything in New Orleans, low key, yet friendly atmosphere, appetizers to die for and THE best steak at a restaurant on the planet.....also known as the Carpet Bagger Filet on the menu.

We had a lovely meal recently starting with excellent oysters well-spiced, then crawfish and scallops dishes that were tender and luscious. So many places in Athens can be crowded for dinner, but even when it is, George's is arranged so that is easy to hear others at your table. Great service too.

I especially like Tuesdays at George's Low Country Table in Athens. Tuesdays at George’s are special days. The best oyster prices this far from the coast, great service, and a varied menu to compliment your bivalve mollusks. I prefer that George’s folks shuck mine and serve them raw, but they are happy to bake them in a spicy Cajun style... More

Beautiful food. Quaint environment. Absolutely fantastic! My husband and our 4 kids (16, 10, 8, 6) all loved our food! We just moved here so this is a GREAT welcome to Athens! We will be back and bring visiting friends to be sure!

Great restaurant. In athens, it is located away from the campus and stadium. This is a good and bad thing. Food is good and fairly priced. Due to location, on gameday, I'd rather eat slightly closer to UGA campus.

We went for brunch on a Sunday and the server immediately brought us a basket of warm biscuits. There were 4 of us; I think we each had 3 - they are that good. Add the butter and its a little piece of heaven. We didn't have any of the advertised drink specials, but the bloody mary's and mimosa's were... More
