Good food, cool place

Went here one afternoon to try this based on a friend's recommendation. I wasn't disappointed. I got the burrito which came out hot and tastes great. Also the sweet plantains were AWESOME. I would definitely return!

Just gotta go to check out the space. Food was good - so different from any other place in town. Sit family style at the picnic tables and watch the kids zoom around on tricycles. Fun!

There is nothing else like Cali N Tito's in Athens. The food and atmosphere make this one of our family's favorite restaurants. Both locations are kid-friendly with vintage playground equipment (Five Points location) and ride-on toys (Eastside across from Cedar Shoals High School). The Cuban bread is from Luna and makes the Cuban sandwiches a top pick! Try the Arroz... More

I liked the variety offered on their menu - Cuban sandwiches, standard Mexican items, Argentine empanadas, etc. The yuca fries were almost flavorless, but the sandwiches and fish tacos were actually quite good. They were very busy and mixed up our order, so we had to wait a while longer, but it all ended well. No problem. I would like to... More

This is the one place my wife and I make sure to make it to each time we are in Athens. The food is some of the best we've had and the experience is also fantastic. Go for dinner, the ambience after dark is out of this world!

As an avid TripAdvisor browser I cannot understand why this restaurant is ranked number two, other than that it is Athens landmark (though there are other such landmarks that are better). Cali N Tito's offers a Caribbean flair in the heart of Athens. Their empanadas are very good, as are their fish tacos. Also, they are one of the few... More

Say "hi" to the parrot on your way in, step up to the counter and order something spicy hot, then out to the porch to enjoy a relaxed casual meal in Athenstown! Does it get any better than this?

Was surprised to see they serve no alcohol, so go elsewhere for your margarita fix. They allow you to BYOB, though they charge a $2 fee. Was also surprised to see they don't take credit cards or checks; cash only, so plan accordingly. It's just counter service, and line to get to counter was about 30 minutes. Then about 10... More

Looks colorful with splash of poverty thrown in from the street. But don't let it's ghetto bohemian college trendy look scare you away. Decor emphasizes thrifty with coffee can pendulum lights and ceiling draped burlap bags. Some of the food is awesome and well worth a look. The line out the door should be a hint it's popular with the... More

a true college hangout. Great value. But, no beer or wine. They are within 1000 feet of a school. You can BYOB a according to the young lady at the counter. Great prices and generous portions. Very basic surroundings.
