The staff was so friendly. We were able to learn and watch them roast coffee, very informative, we had great burgers, even during a power outage, and tried several different drinks, all were great.

This little place would be great anywhere, but to find such a treasure in the little city of Copan Ruinas is truly amazing. Katia is such a great host. The coffee, food, desserts are all top notch. If you are visiting Copan, find Casa Ixchel.

Off the beaten path, but worth the walk. Katia is one of the sweetest ladies you will ever meet. She has a way of making you feel so special along with her delicious food and coffee. ASK FOR THE "CHON PABLO"!!!

Our hostel supplied us with a token to have breakfast at Casa Ixchel on our last morning. Such a shame to have only discovered this little gem as we were leaving. We had a really great breakfast. The pancakes and fruit were delicious and the coffee was really good too. The small courtyard is tranquil with loads of plants making... More

My daughter and I visited Casa Ixchel before heading out for a day of horseback riding and hot springs. The food was fresh and delicious. I had the vegetable omelette and my daughter had scrambled eggs and bacon with hash browns. The service was quick and friendly. The setting, prefect and peaceful. And the coffee?! Delicioso!!! I'm not even a... More

A little bit expensive, like what you'd expect in a US pub, maybe? The hamburger with fries was very good, very well prepared. We ate in the garden, service was efficient and friendly.

We were in Copan for almost a week at the end of December and visited Casa Ixchel almost every day. Great coffee (cafe con leche - yum!) and lots of snacks to choose from. Katia, the owner, takes time to talk to all her guests and is a valuable source of information about the area. The back garden is a... More
