The owner was always corteous and had a nice smile for us the two times we went to El Picante. First night we had these delicious nachos. The ´salsa´ was simply worth for a comeback. A couple of beers left us ready for some bar-hopping. Unfortunately, they couldn´t make the exception to give me the discount from PromoDias.com - I... More

We (group of 4) came to El Picante on our first night in Utila, seating is outdoors on a large veranda. There was already a large group seated and waited for their meal. The gentleman who ran the restaurant was honest and said it would be about a 45 minute wait. We said as long as you have drinks, we... More

Went here twice. First time both of us not big fans of our margarita. When John noticed as he brought over the bill, he took them off. Food great both times, John attentive. Lovely evening out.

First tip - if you want the specials, then get there early! The day we went it was 1/2 rotisserie chicken with sides that sounded divine, but unfortunately was already gone by the time we arrived. I ordered the chicken quesadillas, my husband ordered chicken fajitas, and the other couple ordered chicken enchiladas and nachos. I enjoyed my chicken quesadillas... More

One of my favorite places on Utila. The view is amazing with one of the best places to view the sunset. Jean, the owner, is a great host. He visits every table and gets to know the customers. The food is great and very consistent. The drinks are excellent. El Picante is one of my favorite restaurants on the island.

El Picante serves up pretty typical mexican fare. It was one of the few places where I was able to get a (relatively) healthy dinner, as most of the meals I had on Utila were extremely greasy and good vegetables are hard to come by. The food here is a bit greasy as well, but not as bad as other... More

We enjoyed several delicious meals at El Picante and shared many conversations with Jean, the owner. He will make you feel very welcome. The view from above overlooking the bay makes a beautiful setting for enjoying juicy roasted chicken, quesadillas, or a beautiful flower arrangement of nachos, the 3 items I ordered at El Picantes, all very good.
