NICE LOCAL SURPRISE

We ran the usual cruise port gauntlet of local "tour guides" offering to show the island, and were lucky enough to find a friendly guy who toured us for several hours. When I asked him about trying the local delicacy ( which will remain unnamed for certain reasons) he made a phone call and... read more

While we went after it got dark, it was easy to see that the view would have been nice during the day. We were met by Bertie (a very nice gentleman) who said he was the cook and would make the food "island style" but would make it as spicy as we wanted. We order the Cracked Conch appetizer and... I have dined at Bertie's numerous times over the past few years. At least twice a year. The seafood is super fresh and the cooking style is fantastic. I always order the lobster. The lobster is cooked in a cast iron pan with lots of butter, onion, garlic, and local spices. The shrimp is prepared the same way. If you... More

Had both the turtle and iguana stews and both were well flavored, tender and portioned just right. Served with rice and fried plantains. Pop open a cold beer. A nice tweener between a tour and getting back on the cruise ship. As for service, Wellington is the King, makes everyone feel welcome immediately. Treated all of us like regulars.

Our friends brought us here for lunch and I'm so glad they did! Very close to the ship with a nice view of the bay and ship! I highly recommend Bertie's for great food and beautiful views. Waitstaff is attentive and food is good. I had the stewed beef (tender & flavorful) and husband had garlic shrimp. However I recommend... More

Our taxi tour guide(Ronnies) took us to Bertie's for lunch. What a great surprise! It doesn't look like much from the street but wait until you walk down the driveway and it opens up to an incredible view of the bay. Tables are set outside right next to the water with an outdoor bar stocked with cold beer. We had... More

If you are ever on a royal Caribbean cruise. And you happen to have a stop in Honduras. You need to check out miss. B. After a long day of extreme zip lining. We were hungry ,the port offers no real options. We asked around and a taxi driver told us to try Miss B.. ( walk out of the... More

... and they were right on point! The food was EXCELLENT! The wait time was normal for any proper restaurant who prepares fresh food and it was well worth the wait. The staff were very nice. The view is perfect. Waves at our feet!. Close to the cruise port. Clean. Great prices!

We found Bertie's thanks to our taxi driver. We were looking for a place to try Iguana (typical dish in Roatan). Unfortunately, they didn't have any iguana so we asked for the lobster, Bertie's lobster. Bertie himself came to our table and told us he cooks the lobsters himself (his wife makes the best monkey la la). The beach on... More

We were lured to Bertie's Creole Cuisine by a young man who "befriended" us on the streets. We each ordered the lobster tail special. An hour later, it arrived. Because we weren't in any hurry to be some place else, we weren't too bothered by the delay. In other circumstances, it might have been annoying. The lobster tail was large,... More
