It's some kind of tourism school program. The restaurant has a nice view of the water. The service is very slow even for Guatemala. I had the garifuna soup (tapedo) not at all cheap and not that amazing

Seriously, Overpriced, food below average. The pizza was horrible, the pad Thai... pad Thai come on. It is a sort of school for the student so, the service is just okay but there is no problem. The real problem is in the kitchen and on the price you pay. The view is very nice but you will not remember your... More

I enjoyed the view and the very indigenous looking girl serving the food. The pad Thai was horrible. My wife got the pasta with white sauce, it was ok. I'm being as kind as I can be.

After walking by numerous times we went for dinner on night. We sat with a view of the ocean and had pastas for dinner. It was very yummy!! The staff was super friendly and although they didn't speak much english they really tried and you could tell they cared. They have lots of options on the menu.. some thai but... More

My boyfriend and I went here for lunch as it was highly rated in the lonely planet and we wanted to support a community project. Once we sat down we noticed that the prices on the menu were around 10-20 quetzals higher than in the big menu outside but decided to stay anyway as it's all for a good cause.... More

It is ridiculous, the slogan of this place is "THE BEST SEAFOOD IN THE LIVINGSTON" but when I ordered some dishes with seafood, unfortunately no shrimp and no fish in stock. Can you believe it!! It's ironic!! That's why we decided to eat pizza, it was OK.

As others have noted, this is a student staffed restaurant. The service is inconsistent. All the staff are friendly and strive to please, but . . . I had a smoothie which was so good I ordered another. The student/waiter suggested a different smoothie would be even better. He was correct. We ordered a platter of chicken wings. We each... More

We really enjoyed the food at Buga Mama. Quite an eclectic menu. We had fresh fish, served whole and baked to perfection with a nice selection of seasonings. We also split a pizza which was very good. Service is good and prices are as good a value as can be found.

This a clean, well presented restaurant but it sure doesn't serve Thai food. It looked like Pad Thai, I wanted it to be Pad Thai, but it was not. It contained rice noodles but that is where the similarity ended. I did not taste a single Thai ingredient other than peanuts and it was served with a side of Vietnamese... More
