Mayan Chocolate

I happened to stumble into this place. It was very beautifully decorated and the waitress or lady server was extremely nice. I ordered a hot chocolate and sat down to make some notes regarding my business expenses. The chocolate was superb. I really enjoyed this quaint quiet spot. Besides chocolate... read more

The coffee was overpriced, weak and nothing special at all and the owner became aggressive and unreasonable when my son accidentally broke a glass. She charged a fortune for it, claiming it came from Guatemala City though we soon found them sold cheaply nearby. My children felt threatened and left in tears. Suggest you have cheaper, better coffee elsewhere!

My friend, Hermano Dana, spotted Dina's Chocolates on our way into town and guided us there for chocolates the afternoon of our visit to Lake Atitlan. We stopped in and bought a couple bars of dark chocolate, one we ate as we walked around town and the other to take home. Dina also had a great looking plate of brownies,... More

Incredibly good chocolate made by Dina, the owner, in her own kitchen. Expensive by Latin American standards but well worth it. She also makes wonderful, fragrant soaps.

Stopped in on a rainy day in June and had a good conversation with the owner and bought some various chocolates. Had great service. Just ate one of my last Mayan chili chocolates tonight. It was great. The orange was full of flavor as well. I wish I lived closer. Had to send a message to a friend there tonight... More

A vast array of various flavors and kinds of chocolate. Got some to take home for gifts; ate some and share with our group, so had to go back for more! You wouldn't expect to find this type of chocolate shop in this town!

Dina's Chocolates is a lovely little chocolate and coffee shop on a busy street corner in Panajachel. Their chocolate is sweetened with honey. The owners are friendly and helpful. This is a great place to get gifts to take home for friends and family.

It is a bit pricy for the area, and they were RARELY open! They offer some unique gift ideas, like chocolate soap.
