Description: Experience traditional Japanese dining in a beautiful, authentic Japanese...
Experience traditional Japanese dining in a beautiful, authentic Japanese restaurant located inside the historic Casa Cakchiquel in Panajachel Guatemala. Restaurante Hana offers the rich traditions of Japanese home cooking with Chef Mihoko Azumi. Like we do in Japan, we cook with the seasons, and savor the peak flavor of ingredients. We adhere to the fundamentals of Japanese cooking: respecting the ingredients and their natural flavors, cooking in the moment, and not doing too much. Restaurante Hana presents a wide range of typical Japanese dishes including sushi, sashimi, tempura and all manner of lesser known dishes from the East, both large full dishes and smaller plates for sharing as well as daily specials. Restaurante Hana offers a welcoming multicultural family style dining setting for travelers as well as local customers. We look forward to serving you.

Never did I think I'll be getting a taste of real Japanese food in Guatemala, especially on the lake! But we did. And it was great. We tried Hana's for something different in Panajachel, and while a little apprehensive on how good it would be, we needn't have worried. The food was excellent, with a range of Japanese menu options. We had the Katsu Don and the Gyozo - both were delicious, and came with a Miso soup. The staff were friendly, and the restaurant is... More

The new location inside Casa Cakchiquel is very nice. Seated in a covered courtyard you can check out a great collection of historical photographs from around the lake and then enjoy great Japanese food served by a wonderful staff. Highly recommended.

After a couple of afternoons of torrential rain we were feeling a bit down. We hopped in a Tuk Tuk to get us through the flooded streets and had dinner at Restaurante Hana. This place was truly beautiful. Dinner was amazing, the setting gorgeous, I highly recommend it.

The atmosphere is stunning, the service delightful, the food delicious. Excellent! I ordered the lightly battered fish and vegetables. The veggies and fish were really fresh. Although it was fried, the batter was really light and tasty, not at all greasy.

The food here is delicious and not too pricy. I especially recommend the rice topped with raw tuna, a very savory trip. Go check it out for yourselves. A taste of Japan on the shores of a Magical Lake.

I've lived in Panajachel a little less than a year, and this is definitely the best places to eat in town. The short little walk from Panajachel to Jucanyá is worth it and the owners will go out of their way to make you feel at home. Don't get me wrong, tortillas, avocado and beans are delicious, but udon noodles,... More

we are lucky to be close enough to walk to our favorite restaurant. We live here full time, outside of Pana on the way to Santa Catalina. The best Sushi is inside Hotel Sol, where Miloki and her husband John run Restaurant Hana. Everything on the menu is so good, every time I try something different it becomes my favorite.... More
