Even through disaster, wonderful atmosphere and outstanding coffee

A group I was a part of went to Cross Roads Cafe on June 13th. It smelled so wonderful! Some of the people in our group were familiar with Mike and his shop but I had never been. As were we were talking to Mike found out that his house had been damaged by a boulder the night before. He... read more

Going into Crossroads Cafe is double your pleasure! The coffee is superb and the pastries totally delightful, but Mike makes the experience just as terrific with his effervescent personality! He is funny, kind, and genuinely cares about making the best product ever back in his "secret roasting room." When I grind my Crossroads Cafe coffee beans that I brought back... More

Very friendly, made me feel like I was at home and welcome. Fantastic coffee and treats, too! You can't go here without meeting someone new. Mike and his family are doing a great job with this Cafe.

Dropped our bags at the hotel and headed straight for Crossroads. As usual Mike was welcoming and gracious. Such a master at selecting and roasting coffee beans, and welcoming people to his cozy little shop. We have never personally met his family, but feel like we know them, through Mike's stories and the goodies his wife prepares for patrons. Do... More

My time spent in crossroad coffee is one of my most treasurable memories in my journey. The shop owner Mike is the best coffee roaster in Panajachel. And if you take good personality as a criterion for measuring coffee roaster. Mike could be the best coffee roaster in Guatemala. If you have doubt on this. Just walk in the shop... More

As a Canadian mostly influenced by Tim Hortons coffee I had decided I didn't like coffee. Within the first few cups Mike served me I quickly realized that the quality of coffee served at Crossroads was beyond anything I had previously drank in Canada. We now bring home pounds of coffee so that I can enjoy crossroads coffee at home... More

Mike serves the best of the best coffee! He also is a super interesting and friendly guy to have plenty of conversations with. You won't be able to go just once!

Crossroads Café is the best place in Panajachel for coffee and pastries. Mike buys from the local farmers and a trip to the “Secret Room” (Roasting Room) is an experience. Adele, Mike’s wife bakes all the pastries and they are truly a treat. Crossroads is a great place to visit with other ex -pats and you quickly learn the do’s... More

This was our third trip to Panajachel and we couldn't wait to get back to CrossRoads. Great coffee, unbelievably good pastries, and fun conversation. It gets packed there at times, it's a small place, and you may have to wait a bit to get served, but it all so very worth it. Mike is hysterical and the give-and-take between him... More
