Traditional and gourmet Guatemalan food set on a large "palapa"style architecture. Upscale traditional decoration, local music and waiters with typical outfits; great for turists, out of town clients, families and local foodies. A wonderful Guatemalan experience right in the center of the Hotel zone.

Good eats at reasonable prices!

Kacao has a good variety in their menu and in english for non-spanish speakers.

This restaurant is clearly for tourists. It features Mayan cuisine in an aptly decorated setting. The staff were courteous although the were eager to remove our plates and drinks before we were completely done. The main dishes were fine. I highly recommend the sample platter as an appetizer. It could easily be the main meal. Free wifi.

In search for an authentic Guatemalan restaurant in the Zona Viva district of Guatemala City we came across Kacao. The setting was a bit touristic I must say (people standing at the entrance in traditional mayan wear for photos and the option to buy Mayan artefacts/woven shawls etc), but nevertheless very cozy. The service is very good and the food... More

This was my first meal in Guatemala and it was fabulous. Great selection of authentic dishes and the staff is very kind and obliging. I would recommend to anyone who wants to try some authentic Guatemalan food, but would still like to sit down for a very nice meal.

We ventured to this restaurant for a special night out in Guatemala City. The location and Ambiance is very nice. The food was delicious. And the service was great and staff was attentive. I enjoyed the Gallo en chicha which is a delicious stew of rooster breast in a sweet fig sauce. Appetizers of guacamole and chips so fresh and... More

I was in Guatemala for work and we visited Kacao twice. The food is really amazing, so I really recommend it to someone that wants to try the local flavors. The tapado ( soup) was to die for! and the service is very good. It is not cheap though!!
