My husband, Randy and I visited Placencia last week, and we found Eugene and his staff to be the friendliest and most welcoming people in the village. We felt like we had known them all our lives.Mia and Ziggy were waiting for us every day and couldn't wait for us to throw the stick and play with them We can't wait... Nice, laid-back place to relax with a Belikin or your favorite cocktail. We enjoyed the coconut shrimp & rice lunch. Owners are super nice and knowledgeable about the area. My daughter loved the two resident dogs!

from my first experience on, the Pickled Parrot lived up to the wonderful things I had heard about it. The owners, Lynn and Eugene are friendly and will remember your name from the first night on. Their Panty Ripper drink is awesome (pineapple juice and coconut rum) and their daily specials are so good that they sometimes run out early... More

An American expat has created a haven for sports fans to get their fix with cold beer and good food along with good conversations all around. They have a special daily at lunch that is just $5 and will more than fill you. Centrally located it's a great place to take a load off and have a couple.

We were tipped off to this place by a local after my wife went to a yoga class. She told us about their Friday night special of fish and chips for $5 US each. But the key is that you have to get there earlier in the day to do a reservation and reserve some fish as they run out... More

For those looking for a bar that just fits. The sort of place that is half locals, has great drinks and the owner greets you with a beer in his hand, look no further. We Loved the Parrot and went out of our way to go twice on our trip. This is not an idiot kids bar, though I'm certain... More

After first stopping into this bar, we couldn't pull ourselves away. Kareem was the best! He made us the Flea Bite was a pleasant way to forget about the real bug bites I had all over my legs.

We had read good things on tripadvisor but they were closed most of the week between Christmas and New Years - seems like an odd time to close when Placencia was so busy with tourists.
