Eugene and wife bought the pickled parrot a few years ago, and while they are newer to Belize the pickled parrot has been around a while. I was happy to see the same strong and yummy drinks on the menu. Eugene was so friendly and welcoming to everyone who walked through the door. The live music was great. This was... More

like almost all of the restaurants in Placencia village this beachfront open air restaurant and bar offers authentic Central American atmosphere coupled with some american menu items like the trusty Chicken Wing. The sauces have a unique tasty flavor and are made from scratch and on certain nights the wings really are 50 cents.

This is a wonderful place, the new owner, Eugene, is a great guy, and makes sure that you feel right at home. It's got the feel of the 'neighborhood bar and grill', only with a thatch roof, ha.Love this place to set around and visit, watch horse races or Nascar, or whatever you want on the TV. Drinks are great,... More

Well some things never change. This was our second trip to Placencia . We really look forward to going to the pickled parrot because of several things. Kareen the Bartender is always friendly, always smiling, and always makes great drinks. The owners Eugene and Lynn are too of the nicest and friendliest people you'll ever meet. They have a food... This is just a fun place to hang out and drink, and you can play jenga too. They have it behind the counter. Eugene is the owner, and he's a real nice guy. Lots of expats hang out there, and theres always friendly people to talk to. They do food too.

The menu is very limited and tailored for Westerners, so beware if your looking for a large selection. However, the food they do offer is fantastic! Eugene (the owner) made us feel right at home and their 2 dogs (one only has 3 legs!) were great company. Definitely an expat hangout!

Eugene and Lynn are great hosts. They have a limited, but, delicious menu. Great service, real fun atmosphere. Expat hangout (locals can't be wrong, can they?) Go there and enjoy! Oh and the coldest beers in town. Icy cold!!!
