We're certainly far from perfect, but we do try our best to create a winning experience for every single customer, whether they are hotel guests, Belizean neighbors or travelers staying at other hotels. Try pairing small plates with wines, choose from our creative main courses, or just enjoy some comfort food for breakfast or lunch. It's fun for us to meet new people and, well, just make them happy! Our casual beach bistro focuses on unique sauces and contemporary, tropical-themed flavor combinations while maintaining comfortable portions. Lots of fish and seafood. Bar service includes an 80-bottle wine list, local beer, rum drinks, and house specials. The outdoor atmosphere is casual so you can be comfortable in flip flops. Belize's "Restaurant of the Year" award was presented twice to the Bistro in June 2011 and May 2013.

We stayed at the Maya Beach Hotel for a week and ate at least one meal every day at the Bistro. I travel extensively on business, we travel widely (60 countries) personally and are foodies and this restaurant is world-class. The menu is creative (Duck Sausage Hash with spicy Hollandaise for breakfast), the sauces sublime (try the seafood au gratin... More

Very well managed, the service from start to finish was engaging and efficient. We tried the Cacao gnocci, tuna crisps, and shrimp stuffed squid for appetizers, they were all incredible. Entrees of pork chop, fish of the day, and the pork rib, was outstandingly delicious. All perfectly seasoned, tender, and wonderful. Peanut brittle pie was HUGE and satisfying

The Bistro has always been our favorite restaurant in the Maya Beach Placencia area. On Valentine's Day they did an 11 course dinner with wine pairings. Fantastic! We were fortunate to get in, and have already made reservations for 2016, when we do our annual winter trip to Belize.

Ate there twice during short (5-night) stay in Belize. The food was absolutely delicious. Between my husband, myself and our traveling companions I was able to taste the nut crusted fish, the "hudut" style fish stew (my favorite), and the pork chop. Everything was 5-star. The wait staff were attentive and friendly. The cook even shared with us his recipe... More

We visited for lunch. Thought it would make a change to go up the coast on the local bus have a light lunch and have a change of scene from the Placencia Restaurants. Marvellous journey on the bus especially on the return real Saturday afternoon party atmosphere. Reggae beat Video next to the drivers cracked screen and a coolbox of... More

We always heard great things about Maya Beach Bistro and while the views and service were pretty good, we thought the food was average and the atmosphere seemed hectic and disorganized even though they didn't really seem all that busy. We had a reservation but we had to wait too long and were basically ignored by the host and bar... More

Overall a fabulous experience! The service is well above par, the ambiance is lovely, you're immediately greeted and well taken care of. The bar and wine lists are creative and varied. The menu is gorgeous and there were at least 10 things I would have enjoyed ... I ended up with the sassy shrimp pot - a spicy curry coconut... More

When you are tired of eating rice and beans and boiled chicken, this is your oasis in Belize. Some standouts are the huge pork chop, the coconut shrimp, the spicy coconut milk seafood curry soup. Wine seems expensive only in contrast to the inexpensive food...go the the store and you will see wine is quite expensive in Belize. The service... More
