We're certainly far from perfect, but we do try our best to create a winning experience for every single customer, whether they are hotel guests, Belizean neighbors or travelers staying at other hotels. Try pairing small plates with wines, choose from our creative main courses, or just enjoy some comfort food for breakfast or lunch. It's fun for us to meet new people and, well, just make them happy! Our casual beach bistro focuses on unique sauces and contemporary, tropical-themed flavor combinations while maintaining comfortable portions. Lots of fish and seafood. Bar service includes a 130-bottle wine list, local beer, rum drinks, and house specials. The outdoor atmosphere is casual so you can be comfortable in flip flops. Belize's "Restaurant of the Year" award was presented twice to the Bistro in June 2011 and May 2013.

We were staying at a beach house about a 10 minute walk away from the Maya Beach hotel Bistro. We heard about it and decided to try it for dinner. This is the slow season in Belize and we were used to finding few if any other patrons in other restaurants. This one, however, was fairly crowded. The food was... More

As if the ocean front open air dining experience wasn't a big enough treat, everything that I had from this plentiful and sophisticated menu was not just delicious, but really blew me away! And I worked my way through almost all of during our stay at Maya Beach Hotel! Right out of the gates, the ceviche had me falling in... More

Oh my gosh where do I start? The lobster bread pudding? The ceviche? The tostadas? The shrimp french toast? Even the bread and oil was great. I had to be careful to not have too many of the starters so as to leave room for any of the fantastic and mouth watering entrees. The seafood chowder? Are you kidding me?... More

It's a beach bistro at a small hotel in maya Beach just a few miles before the village of Placencia, Belize. Nothing special there but the food sets it apart from any other on the peninsula. We ate here several times times during our three month stay in Belize. Although moderately priced by gourmet standards, the food is absolutely top... More

Staff was friendly but the food did not meet the expectations I had based up on the reviews. Me and my wife ordered a pork chop. It was the largest piece of pork I had ever seen and I eat, adorn, love, and worship good pork chops. I was disappointed that this pork chop looked good but was not well... More

Hello, and thanks for taking the time to visit our restaurant. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the style of pork chop dish that we serve. As described on the menu, it's served with accompaniments of coconut-papaya-chipotle sauce and a pan-fried mushroom risotto cake; but if you asked for a vegetable substitution that would have been graciously offered. In terms of... More

While staying at the Maya Beach Hotel I had many wonderful meals at the Bistro. The staff is courteous and helpful with questions about menu items. Since I am a rather picky eater, the wait staff made perfect recommendations for me, and the kitchen staff prepared my "plainer fare" just right! How can you go wrong with good food, smiling... Sensational! What a serendipitous good fortune I had that the Maya Beach Bistro allowed us to host our son’s wedding rehearsal dinner at their seaside restaurant. The ambiance could not have been more perfect. Prior to dinner, appetizers and drinks were served outside by the pool and the palm tree shaded beachfront, while the meal was served in an open-air... The food was ok, I only ate there once and the fish was overcooked. Interesting recipes. Pickles in the watermelon salad. Overpriced. When I was there it was one of two places open.

great staff and beautiful beachside location is what made the dining experience memorable. the food was good but not great, with dessert being the exception… we had a peanut brittle sundae (or something like that) and it was mind-blowing good! the bowling alley across the street was fun and convenient to go to after dinner. there was also a dock...
