Omar’s was recommended to us by some of the locals (read: our bartenders), so we headed over enthusiastically on a breezy night. There is no alcohol served at Omar’s, but you can purchase it at Charo’s next door and bring it over in plastic cups. My husband got what was easily $70 worth of Maker’s Mark for $10 there, so... Great authentic local food, generous portions and good prices. I had coconut crab soup and my husband had a fish curry. If you are looking for real Creole/Caribbean food and a laid back atmosphere then I would try it.

We had been told this was a really good place and we were planning to go for lobster at dinner, which was recommended by a local person. We went there for breakfast and they had just stopped serving breakfast so we had lunch. Two of us had the grouper wrap, which was okay but another person ordered the grouper and... More

We had a good dinner one night at Omar's. Nice laidback patio with good people watching. Omar's son runs the place now and his dad leads tours. So we started chatting and let them know we wanted to see the Monkey River. Well, we booked that during dinner for two days later. We met back at the restaurant and Omar... More

Me, my husband and mother-in-law went here for lunch. If you like a glass of wine or a beer with your food this restaurant does not sell alcohol. The food was ok, I had chicken in a creole sauce which was edible but I wouldnt write home about it!! The service was good and everyone friendly. There were nicer places... More

My wife and I had dinner here. A lobster burrito and crab claws. The main entrees were quite good, but the sides were cold and poor. I would come back for another burrito, but would probably stick to lunch rather than dinner. No beer or alcohol is served, and the environment is very basic.

The baracuda and lobster dishes were excellent, but no alcohol. Great for a quick dinner, very casual

Great food at a decent price. Like many of the eateries its seafood with a local twist. The snapper and lobster were excellent. Wish I was there in conch season.

I visited Omar's after asking two locals where they would recommend eating seafood for lunch in Placencia. I ordered the Lobster burrito which was reasonably priced but appeared nothing like the "stock" photo on the menu. However, I was most disappointed by the amount of lobster in the burrito - which amounted to three small pieces. I understand that Lobster... More

A ramshackle little place on the "new main street" in Placencia, the food was very tasty, reasonably priced, and served in a good portion.
