Met Omar and his family at the restaurant. Had barracuda and curried fish. Prices are a bit high and this place seems to cater to foreigners because of the prices. Food was good though and we might go here again. We heard the breakfast was amazing, but didn't get a chance to try it. Floor is pretty bouncy, so had... More

This wonderful "house" is covered with vines and flowers. Wonderful atmosphere. Would have given 5 star but had to go across the street and buy beers as they do not serve alcohol. Other than that it is a treat.

During our stay at the Turtle Inn we asked for a restaurant recommendations with a casual, local flare. A menu, a server, a cook. outstanding food and you have Omar's... a great local BYOB joint...

Omar's is a charming little restaurant on the main street of Placencia. I had the crab in garlic butter, which was excellent- the crabs caught that morning, and they were HUGE! The service was excellent, the waiter very attentive and with lots of information about all the local fish. They do not serve alcohol, but you can bring a bottle... More

The crab is so fresh here. This is not a fancy restaurant. More like a local eat but the crab is super fresh and tasty. They don't open on Friday and Saturday so try them on their open days. Yummy food!

During a recent trip to Belize my family and I had the pleasure of dinning at Omar's in Placencia. None of really like fish, but now we do! The food was excellent with incredible flavor and good service. If you're in the neighborhood and have a few nights on the town, this should be on your list.

We were initially disappointed when we found out that they don't serve alcohol. But our waiter offered up wine glasses and bottle service for free. He even let me borrow his bike to head up to what ended up being about 200 ft. to the local grocery store to get a bottle of wine. $15 US for a great bottle... More

Had heard that they were willing to grill what you caught on your fishing excursion. We took them 4 different types of fish and they did an excellent job of seasoning and grilling it to perfection. Sides we ordered were OK - nothing special. Have to go next door for beer or wine (Charo's Bar and Grill - apparently they... More

I'm not sure why it's taken so long for us to have dinner at Omar's...however this may be my new favorite restaurant on the Placencia peninsula! Located on the right side of the street as you pull into downtown Placencia Omar's is everything you thought Belizean food is all about. Omar Sr. is a fisherman by background and like all... More

Creole style fish was delicious! Ate there twice and loved it. It is the best value for the price. Key lime pie was great too! It is BYOB, Inexpensive and great place to eat!
