Delicious

We enjoyed a very delicious dinner at Omar's. The food was great but it took quite a bit of time to get our food. The wait was worth it though. Be prepared to eat with your hands and get a little dirty...the fun of seafood!

Went after reading about this place in Lonely Planet, which said "freshest and cheapest fish in Placencia". Had grilled snapper, husband had barracuda... Both very fresh, but not cheap by Belize standards. Other reviews said prices doubled after Omar's sons took over and I believe it! Don't forget to bring your beer if you want to drink. They will chill... More

Luckily, we missed the lobster special but we managed to find the best freshly caught snapper we had on the whole trip. My husband had the creole sauce, I had the simple grilled with herbs. Both were delicious. It is byob but that is not a problem (bar across the street)

My husband's Three way seafood dish was quite good though the conch was still a bit tough. My niece and my lion fish was tasty but there wasn't very much there.

Great menu selection and friendly environment. We had the added bonus of the staff preparing our fresh catch of the day and we were not disappointed. BYOB

We went to Omar's because we got caught in an absolute downpour. It was on our list of places to try so it was a happy accident. I tried some freshly caught fish and it was done to perfection. Very nice local flavour and very friendly staff. We were served by Omar himself as it was sort of the off... More

We went to Omar's for lunch today. I know the boys are running it now but I think the old boy would turn turtle if he saw what we were served today. Now we did eat kind of late but I don't really think that's an excuse. If you don't want to cook or you want to close up just... More

While we apologize for not satisfying your "bean & cheese" burrito craving that day; we do want to make one thing clear, the" old boy" is still alive. And for you to suggest we close down for a "failed" bean and cheese burrito, perhaps you should have tried something that had more flavor. Perhaps your idea of a fair review... More

Ordinary lunch for the price. My friends fish was dry and my burrito didn't have half the stuff it said on the menu. A little disappointing.

after spending 8 days and eating in many of the fantastic restaurants in the town of Placencia I have decided to name Omar's as my favorite. Fair prices, very fresh seafood, flavors that made me say mmmmmmmm good! The owner is personable and welcoming. My favorite dish was the lobster burrito with Caribbean sauce.
