My mouth died and went to heaven! We dined at Omar's three times during our short visit to Placencia. We were delighted with the quality, portions and prices of the food. Everything on the menu looked fantastic. We were able to enjoy the curry, garlic and creole preparations of the fresh fish and lobster and everything was terrific. Omar and... More

I had the fillet fish with Garlic Butter Sauce and my husband had Fish and Chips. We both left full and very happy. The owner was a delight to talk with and the atmosphere was like Placencia - friendly and very casual.

This place does fish well - the lobster with butter was awesome. The local fish in Creole sauce, also awesome.

We selected Omar's based on reviews. However, we were disappointed with both of our meals. The fish was over-cooked and dry, and the burritos were bland and skimpy on filling. The service was just OK. This was our least enjoyable meal during our 10 day stay in Belize.

This is definitely a local dive. I would like to say I tried some local fare here, but I didn't. I was craving a hamburger and Omar's delivered. The bun was something local, freshly baked, and marvelous. The beef was good with melty cheese and crispy lettuce and tomato. I am craving that flavor now!

Omar’s was recommended to us by some of the locals (read: our bartenders), so we headed over enthusiastically on a breezy night. There is no alcohol served at Omar’s, but you can purchase it at Charo’s next door and bring it over in plastic cups. My husband got what was easily $70 worth of Maker’s Mark for $10 there, so... Great authentic local food, generous portions and good prices. I had coconut crab soup and my husband had a fish curry. If you are looking for real Creole/Caribbean food and a laid back atmosphere then I would try it.

We had been told this was a really good place and we were planning to go for lobster at dinner, which was recommended by a local person. We went there for breakfast and they had just stopped serving breakfast so we had lunch. Two of us had the grouper wrap, which was okay but another person ordered the grouper and... More

We had a good dinner one night at Omar's. Nice laidback patio with good people watching. Omar's son runs the place now and his dad leads tours. So we started chatting and let them know we wanted to see the Monkey River. Well, we booked that during dinner for two days later. We met back at the restaurant and Omar... More

Me, my husband and mother-in-law went here for lunch. If you like a glass of wine or a beer with your food this restaurant does not sell alcohol. The food was ok, I had chicken in a creole sauce which was edible but I wouldnt write home about it!! The service was good and everyone friendly. There were nicer places... More
