Good Cheap Eats

We ate here twice. Once for lunch, once for breakfast. Both meals were good and fresh and the service was good. Fry jacks were light and fluffy. Chicken was tasty. Lunch for 2 was $12 us including beer.

My husband and I went here for dinner on the recommendation of the hotel owner. When we arrived the people sitting behind the bar were surprised we were there to eat dinner and didn't know what was on the menu. I think we caught this place at an off night because the other reviews seem positive. However, the food was... More

We came to the Riverside Cafe because we were told to find a boat captain there that would take us out to Tabacco Caye. It turned out to be very convenient - we waited about 40 minutes for a captain, and got some breakfast while we were waiting. We both had fry jacks, eggs, and bacon - it was very... More

Great place across the river from the market, ez to find. Good place to wait on a boat to the cayes and meet lots of expats and tourists. Food is excellent. I had scrambled eggs with fryjacks (best I have had in Belize) I added tomatoes and pepper sauce, and had the ever available Nescafe, and had a great breakfast... More

This restaurant had good breakfast reviews so I had to try it. The fried Jacks were excellent and priced right. Bean, cheese and egg stuffing hit the spot.

We went there twice. First, it was not really open, but staff got us drinks and snacks anyway. Later, we went for breakfast. I had fry jacks, eggs, ham, and beans, with a lime juice. Very good. Nice location near the outlet of Stann Creek and the ocean. Most of the Dangriga restaurants are reasonably priced. If one wants fancier,... More

We came here after recommendations from the hostel owner and locals. The food was tasty and was of a good size. The service was good and the staff were friendly.

"Like many places we ate breakfast in Belize, breakfast of eggs is the way to go. Here I went the whole way and had the fry jacks. Good stuff. You'll be full when you walk out and your wallet wont miss much. Friendly service"

Great breakfast at a great price. Try the Fry Jacks. If you are planning on catching a boat, show up at 8:30, arrange a time and wait patiently here with breakfast. They will call you when ready.

Stopped at this place on the way out to Tobacco Caye for breakfast. Fresh, hot fry jacks were perfect. We had them two ways: stuffed and plain. Stuffed were filled with eggs, beans, ham and cheese. Plain were great pillows of fluffy fried dough. Yum.
