Good road side food

If you are hungry while on the Western Highway between Belize City and Belmopan, Cheers is the place to visit. Hamburgers and traditional chicken, rice and beans in open air seating underneath thatch. Always interesting to look at all the donated t-shirts and flags in the ceiling.

Menu has lots of choices. Food is good, not the best in Belize, but overall still very good and the convenient location makes up for it. We stopped on way to airport for early lunch before flight home. Servers were friendly, but service was slow, even though we were the only people in the place.

Had dinner here twice and loved it! Their stewed chicken is amazing and huge! Also loved their watermelon juice. The owner is super nice, and we loved all the shirts on the ceiling. Great food!

Great local gathering place, although the multitude of tee shirts hanging from the ceiling attest to the welcome extended to tourists and expats. Great, varied menu with ample local dishes. We loved the stewed chicked with beans and rice (NOT rice and beans...who knew they were different?!). Service is good; services are very generous. Our group ate here twice and... More

We were referred to this place from our hotel in Belize city but didn't get to try it till we were leaving the country. We actually ran into the owners of our Punta Gorda B&B while there. They were American. That said, the food is excellent for locals and tourists. Prices were really great. Service was great as well. Had... More

We were picked up at the airport by Black Rock Lodge and our driver stopped here since we wanted to have a meal. We ate in the open air patio. The food was delicious Belizean cuisine and was in very generous portions. It is a place that not only travelers stop but also locals.

A nice, relaxing place to stop for a bite to eat located between the airport and San Ignacio. The ceiling is covered with hanging T-shirts "donated" from diners. The food was average compared to the rest of the food we devoured in Belize, but I had my first taste of watermelon juice here - delicious!

We had heard so much about Cheers from others who frequented the place so where very happy to have been able to stop there for lunch. The menu has a big variety of both local and international food but found it to be average. The service was very good, the freshly squeezed orange juice was amazing and the setting is... More
