We read quite bad reviews but since it was so convenient to stop by we decided to give it a shot. We had cocoloco shrimps and fish fingers and a cake and was all good. Nice setting and nice staff

I was skeptical because of the reviews, but it was our only choice for dining last night- most places in town close at 5, and we didn't want to venture far outside our hotel complex because of the bad vibes this town gave us during the day- we stayed at The Great House and this place is just below us!... I stayed at The Great House Inn upstairs for a business trip, so Smoky Mermaid was an easy choice for dinner. The place was quiet on a Monday in high season. Great ambience - I had dinner under a tree outdoors in a garden. When traveling, I always like to try the plat du jour. This one didn't disappoint --... More

We landed at the Smoky Mermaid after an enjoyable visit to the ruins. It was the perfect spot after a warm and humid adventure. We were given Rum Punch as a complimentary drink following our tour and it was okay- I am not a huge Rum Punch fan. We ordered Locococo Shrimp and enjoyed every bite. It had a honey... More

The food and dessert at this restaurant is delicious. I ordered the Jamaican Jerk Chicken, which was tender, juicy and very flavorful. My boyfriend ordered the Chicken Kiev and believed it to be very tasty. For dessert, we ordered decadent ecstasy - a must order! Friendly staff and a lovely bar area.

The Smoky Mermaid is right across the street from the Radisson, and well worth the short walk. We sat on the patio, accompanied by two of the neighborhood cats. I had the daily special (curried lobster) and my wife had the ceviche. Both were tasty and nicely presented. The service was casual but reasonably attentive. We would go back.

Close to ship-n-shops, Awesome setting, A little wait but well worth for the 4 different dishes ordered. Each was superb!!! Great Staff, price, etc.

The food was as good as the wait for drinks, food, even napkins was long. We waited over an hour for our food. Stay away.

We stopped in for dinner and had to wait over an hour for the food to be brought out. We were a party of 5, but not all the plates were served at the same time even after the hour wait.! Waited an additional 10 minutes for the last plate and all the food was cold. There were no napkins... More

In our five nights in Belize City, we ended up eating dinner here twice because the crusted fish (snapper fillet fried in shredded yucca and possibly coconut and topped with tropical salsa) was just that good. Highly recommended to all visitors!
