The Sand Box is defunct! It is no longer there and seemingly long ago abandoned so don't look for it coz you won't find it!

The conch fritters were addictive. We ordered them with just about every meal - and we had five meals there. Their battered fish fillet and barbecue chicken was also very yummy.

My husband and I stopped after riding bicycles around the island. We wanted a snack and my husband wanted to try a conch fritter. The service was quick but food was average. The fritter was basically pureed into like a corn bread patty and fried. couldn't really taste the conch. But then again, Conch doesn't really have any flavor.

This place had the best conch fritters on the island. It also had a nice jerk chicken sandwich. Reasonably priced lunches.

Sand box has a large area around picnic tables out back for kids to play in. Stewed chicken comes with rice, beans and coleslaw. Reasonable prices.

Cold Belikins on draft in sand-floored bar, outdoor dining under beach palapas. Tasty seafood salads, grilled fish sandwiches and finger foods. Orders to-go. Postcard-perfect view of the ocean across the quiet beach/courtyard that the restaurant shares with the hotel portion of the property. Next to the Caye Caulker Water Taxi pier - not open every day.

We ate from the specials menu, and everything was very good. The conch fritters (4 large fritters with sauce for $7 as a special) was a great deal. The jerk fish sandwich was unusual in a good way, and the chili cheeseburger (give me a break, I have been eating beans and rice for two months) was very good. The... More
