This is a very small, dirt floor, cute restaurant. It is not fancy, but the food was excellent. They cook on a wood stove. The shrimp ceviche was excellent. The desserts were not great, but the entrees were wonderful. And, our waiter, Brandon, was very good.

My husband had the gibnut special and I had the curry chicken. Both were served with rice and beans, plantain and coleslaw. We both enjoyed our meals very much! But I must say the frozen key lime pie is a must have. It's perfect for this climate and if I wasn't full from the meal, I would have had a... More

We had lunch here on the recommendationn of our hotel manager, Richard, at the Hol Chan Resort, and we were very happy we took his advice. We had the daily special, tamalitos, which were masa with green leafy veg, and parma chesse mixed in and flattened, and your choice of stew chicken, pig tails, stew beef on top. I had... More

Went here for lunch with the family. We had the braised beef, coconut curried shrimp and pork with rice and beans. Everything was great. Fresh, simple, and tasty food.

Nice atmosphere. very local like. But the food lagged. Fish fillets were overcooked, tough and the conch was not well thought out [perhaps my limited experience]. All was fresh. Service was adequate, but not noteworthy.

Fogon serves dishes that are traditional but hard to find in San Pedro. I had the royal rat which was delicious and my wife had some shrimp dish which she was quite pleased with. The price was perhaps a tad higher than other places in town with the same quality, however the dishes were served in a more traditional way.... More

I was surprised to find a menu offering Italian selections along with local fare. Excellent angel hair and shrimp. Service was professional and friendly. Definitely on our return list.

My family and I spent a week in Belize, spending time in both Ambergris Caye and San Ignacio. Our meal at El Fogon was the best of the trip. The restaurant is located near the San Pedro airport. The decor is nice but not memorable. The food however was local, fresh, and very good. The conch ceviche was simply the... More

Food was good, the Creole shrimp was a good pick. The frozen key lime pie was good. Key limes from the area and you can taste it. It was really busy so you may need to call ahead or stop in the afternoon to reserve a table. We got there before the dinner rush and were alright.
