I loved the ceviche and loved feeling like I was definitely not in Denver. It was recommended as a good local food/atmosphere and it did not disappoint.

Ask any local about El Fogon, and they will point you in the right direction. Sit beside the building in a covered courtyard area and smell the day's offerings simmering on the open fire pit inside large kettles. If they have their fish balls on the menu that day, trust me, you want to order some!

We heard about this place early in our trip and made sure we got here before we left. We had the garlic-lime shrimp and the fish creole. Both were EXCELLENT, and the shrimp ceviche was also pretty tasty!

Tucked away on a side street in the center of the island, you'll find a little restaurant call El Fogon. They stew the chicken all day, and grill the seafood fresh with a wonderful blend of spices. The drinks are great, there's a funny pair playing instrumental synth versions of all your favorite songs. Really enjoyed our meal here. I... More

The food was fantastic! Small outdoor café, real island tradition! One of the best meals we had during our entire stay on the island- don't miss it!

We came to El Fogon our first night on the island, and loved it so much we came back for lunch, despite having only a week to try everything in San Pedro :) The creole dishes, stews, and grilled lobster were EXCELLENT. Some of the nicest, most personable waiters, like Farid and Richard made it worth coming back to!

Ate here once during our stay. The food was good but took nearly an hour for takeout for 2 people and the restaurant was not busy. The bartender, who was filling in for someone else, was really nice.

We rented a golf cart to find this restaurant recommended by multiple people after we arrived. It was worth the effort to get there. We had fish ball appetizers made of red snapper and another appetizer that was equally good. We also had creole seafood mix (lobster, fish, and shrimp) and grilled seafood mix. Both were excellent. We love to... More

Had the Shrimp Creole which was a generous portion and good quality. Two entrees, an app and two drinks ran us about $130 Belize which was the most expensive meal we had in San Pedro however it was very good. Wasn't a fan of the picnic bench seating but overall we had a good experience.

They cook on the open fire pit. And man can they cook. We had stewed pork dish. It was awesome. This is an off the beaten path must go.
