Great local fare and service

If you are looking for the local food, this is the place. Fried red snapper, the whole fish, it was perfect. It was seasoned well and fried perfectly. The rice and beans are good, not great (a little dry), slaw was good. My wife also had the grilled snapper filet, it was great also. Service was excellent, food was served... More

If you are visiting the area this is a must eat at restaurant. They serve local cuisine cooked traditionally. The food is different, especially the Chilmole soup, which I found to be terrifically different from anything I had ever tasted. The tastes are rich and complex and I am from the American South where we have very rich food. Lunch... More

We showed up towards closing time and the staff was more than willing to bring us delicious food. I would go back in a minute! Authentic Belizean food and the recipes have been passed down for generations.

Tried a few times....prices were too high for the quality and quantity of foods. Just really an okay place for me....it has nothing special here. The seating is ragged...the staff are nice...but the food is not all that. We never go back.

Visited El Fogon for dinner. I had the pork stew and my wife had some blackened fish. My wife loved the fish, but I felt the pork stew had a bit of an off-flavor, most likely from the local wood they burn in the fogon. Don't get me wrong, I love smoked meats, but I just felt the smoke flavor... More

This is where the locals told us to eat. Its a little hidden but any local can point you in the right direction. Its near the lagoon side. Great food. It's a nice place to go for a nice dinner with your significant other. I had the ginger grouper cooked in a banana leaf. Delicious. The Dirty Banana is a... More

We had heard about the famed conch fritters of Belize and were informed by a local that this place had the best to be found. We were certainly not disappointed. The fritters were so delicious! We also enjoyed a yummy pineapple mojito and a tropical colada with our dinners. I had the special for that evening, ginger fish grilled inside... More

This was good food and a nice place to visit on our last night in Belize. The shrimp was delicious, as was the key lime pie. We sat outside and the ambiance was really nice there. Like most food in Ambergris Caye, it was a little pricey, but nothing outrageous.
