Stopped here after a morning of diving. Had the conch fritters and a grilled grouper fillet. Both were excellent

El Fogon is a quaint, authentic Belizean restaurant. A friendly, sandy-floored room with a cooking oven and picnic tables for families or large groups, and a more intimate area with smaller tables. Simply amazing, sand floors under the palm roof. The food was out of this world, I ordered salbutes, conch fritters and FISH BALLS. Everything was amazing as were the drinks. Don't be in country without stopping here...period.

This restaurant is right by the airport. They do their cooking on a wood fire. They have interesting specials, creative cocktails and excellent service.

We went to El Fogon for lunch, and had the grilled fish and stewed chicken with sides of red beans and rice and coconut rice. Both entrées were flavorful and very tasty. If you feel the need for added heat, they have crushed habaneros and onions pickled with habaneros that are really good. I highly recommend this place for authentic... More

This location in the middle of town near the airport is tricky to find. Just ask someone for directions! It's on a little side street, under shady trees and a nice palapa. The food is made fresh daily on an outdoor fire oven (fagon), in the Maya tradition. Good prices and great selection. Expand your horizons and order unique specialties... More
