Wasn't planning on stopping here - never make an "itinerary". Just kind of bumped into it. Immediately remembered reading about it (OK - remembered after we got home) and smiled. Ordered drinks and we sat looking out at the ocean. Totally messed up the rest of our day as we didn't want to leave - and we didn't. One of... More

It's a blast! The drinks are strong. The hot sauce is some of the hottest we had in all of Ambergris Caye. Did I mention it's a bar at the end of a pier in the sea? It fun, the crowd is fun, the food is great for bar food. Just remember its a bar not a Michelin rated restaurant.... More

Palapa Bar is a cool hangout during the day. Good food, great drinks and a fantastic view. Snorkeling off the bar. Tubes in the water to relax in. Always a good day trip.

The owners, Scott & Jody, have done a great job of making this one of the most relaxing places on the island. It is one of the few bar/restaurants that is actually built over the water. Service is great with lots of comfort food available. Try the batter fried bacon as an appetizer (YUM). Scott & Jody are there a... More

I had a nice time here. The bar staff is very professional, and really enjoyed meeting the patrons. I rented a bicycle and it was not too far.

Palapa Bar is a little out of the way, about a mile north of the toll bridge. If you have a cart, it's not far, but the road north of the bridge is rough. A large number of people walk or bicycle to the bar to enjoy the food and drinks. Our favorite drinks are the Dirty Banana and the... More

We had a great time at the Palapa Bar as we drunk our beers while we floated in the tubes provided by the bar. They lower down our beer buck and we just relaxed. The view was amazing as we watch spotted eagle ray swim by. The atmosphere was pleasant the staff were great so were the shots.
