So our snorkeling guide Ivar sent us to this place. He recommended the Lobster Burrito and he was right! Huge burrito with two TENDER lobster tails. Also had a fresh watermelon juice. Great local type place to eat.

We tried several types of pupusas and a chicken taco, and everything was pefect. The inside place is a bit small, and chaotic, but you can also sit in the streefront or in the back garden. I can recommend this place for everybody, who want to try real good pupusas.

After a few hours of exploring the island that it was time to eat so we came here to eat some papusas. Not really knowing if we would like them or not we ordered just one for each of us. It took them two hours to get our meal to us. Now the papusas were good and reasonably priced so... More

We were looking for somewhere to eat with delicious food that would not break the bank for our last night in San Pedro. After 4 people recommended Waruguma to us, we decided it was the place to go. The place is small, harshly lit and patrons are seated with the feeling of being right on the street. Half the cooking... More

Open air with cold beer. The gas grill on the side walk in front that was heaped up and overflowing with lobsters was unexpected but it sure did taste good. My wife had the empanadas which were also amazing.

Other visitors raved about the restaurant. The meal was good but the service was horrible. We sat for two hours before we had food.

If you like lobster, be sure to visit Waruguma during lobster season. Their lobster burrito is as large as it is good. For that matter, all their lobster entrees are great. If you miss lobster season, you can get all the same entrees with shrimp, conch, and other local sea food. Waruguma is located in the heart of San Pedro... More

The food here was excellent. We were going broke at the expensive tourist restaurants until we found Waruguma. The staff was friendly and gave us great advice on selecting unfamiliar food. We noticed that this place is also a favorite of Belizeans.

We always ask everyone, "where do the locals eat", and Waruguma was recommended highly. The food was excellent. Don't be in a hurry because they cook everything fresh and that takes some time. Large portions are the norm and you better be hungry. You really should try it.

Hands down, the best budget meal you can have in San Pedro! The variety of pupusas are staggering (even pumpkin!) and all are delicious. You can even stop at the grill out front and grab a few to enjoy as a snack as you stroll through town. The burritos and massive.... I would caution anyone to share the seafood burrito... More
