Just like we remembered

After 20 years, we searched out this fish shack, and were delighted to see it hadn't changed. We got good, fresh seafood for a reasonable price. We went between lunch and dinner hours on a weekday, and it wasn't too busy. Nice sitting out on the deck, which was new to us. We love being right on the... read more

The place was recommended by two locals that work at the local Marriott. One worked at the naval base across the street until he retired and ate there twice a week. Don't let the location or looks scare you, the food is good and a lot. It's at the end of the road and where the fishing fleet comes in.... More

Came out here after seeing the Diners & Dives program. We were looking forward to a great experience. Unfortunately we didn't get that tonight. To their benefit they must be doing something right because the place was packed with a 45min to and hour wait. We seen the opportunity come available at the bar. The two waitress's were stroking and... More

We loved this place. The atmosphere is fun, odd, and appropriate for a Seafood Shack. Located on the St John's River. The server was very nice and friendly. We both had the Shrimp Basket. The Shrimp was fresh plump and tasty - the sides were very good, especially the Cole Slaw and Hush Puppies!!! We are camping nearby at Hanna... More

This place is still a good place to get some great seafood. And the cats are still there protecting us while we eat....They also have great key lime pie!!

Got here about 5:30 this evening. There were short staff so waiting time was longer than desired but food was worth the wait. What staff was there worked their tails off to take care of everybody.

Everything's fried and the atmosphere is dark and dirty. Skip this place and go to the fresh seafood place before you get to Singletons. Horrible, greasy seafood.

Think the name shack should fool you, it doesn't disappoint. It's a shack and we love that! Love a place that is well loved that you know the walls can talk! We ordered lots of appetizers. My favorite was the alligator tail. It was delicious. The buffalo shrimp was pretty tasty too. Hubby tried a locally brewed beer there, Manatee... More

After watching Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, I expected great things from this place and drove out of the way to go here. The building is dilapidated, the dining room stank, and the food was WAY sub standard and much too pricey. My fried oysters breading were not even cooked and the fish was rubbery. Didn't taste fresh at all. For... More

I was hungry for seafood and decided to go to Singletons last night. I was cold and loved the bowl of oyster stew! It was excellent, just like my grandmother used to make. The dinner portions are quite large, so bring your appetite, and enjoy.
