We had not visited Singleton's in several years and were pleased to find it unchanged -- still the "seafood shack" that we had always known and loved. Simply stated, they have the best fried shrimp anywhere. Their other dishes are good too, but it's the shrimp I go for. And you get plenty of food. I love you, Singleton's!

We drive up to Singleton's every few months when people from out of town visit. Nothing spectacular about it except the location right on the St. Johns River. Good basic seafood at a reasonable price. Very casual atmosphere. We like seeing everything from small boats to huge ships pass directly in front of us.

We ate lunch here, a short drive from where we were staying in Jacksonville beach.I liked the casual atmosphere, very much like being on an old ship. We found it to be clean. Atmosphere was fun. I think everyone liked their food. The seafood of the day was fresh. The portions were large, but so was the price. One plate... More

This shack is awesome. Great fresh food for great prices with an old style feel. Everything comes fried, unless requesting otherwise. Get the scallops blackened, huge and perfect. I will be bringing my visiting company here to give them a taste of what real seafood is. The shack is by the water and fishing boats can be seen sailing in... More

This place is amazing it's on the water in Mayport, When you first walk in it will set you back some You will want to start fixing the place up. Very rustic been here forever. Food you can not eat that much. My wife and I ordered the sea food platter for two. Crazy good and a lot of it.... More

Singletons has been a family favourite for over 20 years - in a city where most eateries last at most 5 years it is a testament to the quality of the service, delicious fish (most caught in local waters) and amazing view that Singletons is still with us. Children will love being able to watch the pelicans and fishing boats... More

Gigantic portions (I warned you). Super friendly, crusty-looking staff (Perfect for the atmosphere) Whole place is made of scrap wood and plywood. Not a level surface in the whole place. Food was awesome! Especially the fried scallops. Not for super tall people. Inside and outside dining, overlooking the fishing boats that probably brought the fish in. Open kitchen. Professor Phardtpounder's... More

I can't say the food was great, but it was good. We had a party of 9 and was there for late lunch over the FL/GA football weekend, so it was crowded. Service was fast considering all things. I had the Oyster basket with cole slaw and it was very good, not too greasy with the fried oysters. The majority... More

My husband and I had this restaurant recommended to us by a couple of people and we really looked forward to finally visiting it. I had already been forewarned through another tripadvisor review that it was going to be a "dive" type of restaurant and that much was certainly true. But the look of the place lends to the ambience... More

A true seafood shack on A1A at the south terminus of the Mayport Ferry. I have eaten here many times and keep coming back for one thing, and only one thing--a steamed fish sandwich (always excellent). Whatever fish they have in the fish market can be made into a sandwich; take your pick--I've never had a bad one. At times... More
