I took my coworkers there for a staff dinner and thoroughly enjoyed it! The food and drinks were modestly priced and everyone had a great experience. I love the GREAT variety of burgers they offered. Everyone I've had has been excellent. Good for a casual business dinner, a drink after the beach, or a fun date night!

Poe's Tavern is a welcoming, understated restaurant within walking distance from the beach. It is an open air place with a parking lot (!). It serves a large variety of beer and burgers, along with a very good salad. My personal favorite is the veggie burger. It is not one of those frozen patties that often turn up in restaurants.... What's not to love about this restaurant? From the friendly staff to the quirky atmosphere it is all A+. I visited here for a lunch and enjoyed every moment. The gourmet burger was tasty, but the fries... THE FRIES!! The best I have ever tasted. I beg you not to smother the taste in ketchup. You will be missing out... More

I've gone numerous of times & the good is pretty good. I overall like the environment and the staff. They are always friendly. It's nicely located on the beach & always have parking close, except during events. All in all is rate it a 4.5/5!

This was a first time for me and a group of friends. I had heard they had really good burgers here so ever on the lookout for the best...we ventured here. It certainly helped to be the best weekend of the year...not too hot or cold and outside tables were available. (Definitely a great spot for taking in the Atlantic... More

My husband had dinner here and brought home carryout for me. My buffalo shrimp salad and key lime pie were tasty, and he said the burgers were great, but service was extremely slow. To be fair, it was a weekend night. If you are looking for a twist on simple fare, they do have some interesting burger options.

Friends and I went to Poe's Tavern yesterday for dinner. We got seated pretty fast. Waitress was nice. I had the hop frog and I can only recommend it.

Visiting my daughter in college and wanting to be a part of the "local" color on Jacksonville Beach is difficult. We were looking for a place ON the beach and was turned away because she was not 21! for lunch! seriously!!! SO we opted to go to Poe's Tavern. With a bit of a brushed off attitude we were pleasently... More

Basically a burger joint, but a very good one. Lots of combinations with toppings like fried eggs, buffalo shrimp, blue cheese etc. You can get each made with beef or chicken. The Edgar Allan Poe theme adds a fun touch. If you visit the restroom, you will hear Poe's work read over a speaker in the ceiling. Patio dining is... More
