We had been here before and liked it so much that this time we brought a 10 of our friends to join us for lunch. Food was delicious, plentiful, creative and good value. We had been told that we could not make a reservation, but Chris (owner) did so for us. Staff were very helpful. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

This place was a little different than what I am used to... I usually wait to be seated and then have a waiter take my order, but you stand in line (for a while) and order your food. Then you find a place to sit (or get it to go) and someone brings out your food. And let me tell... More

We were there the first night of their longer hours and it was busy but the line to order went quite quickly and we found a table without too much trouble for the 5 of us. My grandsons( 3 and 5 yrs old) had the kids fish basket and loved sitting right next to the water watching the birds and... More

If you're ever in the Jacksonville area, it's sure worth the trip to the tiny village of Mayport, right on the St. John river, to visit Safe Harbor. The fishing and shrimp boats are docked right behind the restaurant, you can sit outside on their enclosed "patio" and watch the boats, sea gulls and pelicans while enjoying your super fresh... More

I love to purchase my seafood from this market. The fried seafood meal is ok. I'm not a big fan of fried seafood.

Stopped by at 11 a.m. No line. They offer yummy choices in a clean, bright environment. It is Florida Signature not four star, don't go thinking you will be pampered. Enjoyed sitting next to the docks to watch the boats coming and going. Very much enjoyed the food and the way it was prepared. Conch fritters were especially flavorful. Foods... More

We care more about the quality of our food than the atmosphere - fortunately as the tables here are rickety, crammed together and you will queue for half an hour to get one. The service consists of the man at the till asking how you like you fish cooked and then someone finding you with it later. One of us... More

This restaurant is a bit off the beaten path but well worth the trip. Get there early because there is a line out the door by lunchtime. We took a beach trolley and then a community shuttle to get there. Safe Harbor is located on the water with fishing boats pulled right up in back. The catch of the day... More

We stopped here one Sunday afternoon and had some of the freshest, best cooked shrimp, scallops, and oysters ever. Upon leaving we had them pack grouper, snapper, mahi, and shrimp for our trip back to Georgia. We will be back as soon as possible for a repeat.

This is the finest local seafood anywhere! Best fresh Trigger fish which is my favorite over almost any other...grouper and snapper...even though I love those too, but most folks have no idea about Trigger, and it is simple fantastic! Shrimp fresh and best local Mayport shrimp. Best deal, purchase in the fish market and they will cook it for $2... More
