Being from Missouri you don't get great sea food in fact my wife & I don't eat it back home, but when we sojourn to Florida we are always on the lookout for that great fish dinner, our friends from Jacksonville recommended Safe Harbor, jump for joy, what a restaurant nothing fancy just great seafood fresh off the boat can't wait... Laid back historic fishing / shrimping village of Mayport offers this wonderful waterfront restaurant. The seafood is fresh and excellent. There is a wide variety of items to choose. Everything we've tried has been great!

We love the atmosphere, fresh fish (recently dined on a fabulous mango salsa snapper) and sides (esp. the slaw)! No complaints! Reliably great! Only downside is the limited night time hours, but which have been improved. But well worth it if you can make it to Mayport.

My husband and I enjoyed a delicious meal at this charming, waterfront restaurant. Safe Harbor is primarily a commercial seafood market, but also offers delicious meals in a casual setting. You order and pay at the cash register and then head out to the deck where a server will bring the food to your table. Their grilled haddock sandwich was... More

Relaxed atmosphere with excellent seafood. My husband had a dozen oysters which were served freshly shucked and ice cold. I had the fried fresh Mayport shrimp plate. It was all fantastic!!

Skip Singleton's and come here. It is the freshest and most flavorful seafood in Jax, with a fun atmosphere!

This is my go-to market for fresh seafood in Jacksonville. The red snappers are sweet and succulent, the calamari has a wonderful texture and crunch to it without being rubbery at all, the mackerel I use to saute with tomatoes, the golden pompano is delicious both skillet fried or in a soup, and the shrimp is fresh and firm. The... More

We ate lunch here during Thanksgiving week and had a great time outside in the sun. There is a big sign to have you place your order at the back of the place. There was already a line when we arrived so we went out to look for tables. There were a few tables inside available but don't even think... More

The food was great. The view was nice eating on the dock of the bay . Looking at boats coming and going with the catch of the day

Went for an early dinner to avoid the crowd. The menu is small but adequate for seafood choices. You order, take a number and find a seat. There is limited seating and we found a table by the plastic windows along the dock. The soup special was Mayport fish soup so I gave it a try. It was good and... More
