Oysters oysters and more oysters! That's what you go for! Also have had fried fish and grilled shrimp. All good!

Where do I begin? Papa Joes was located for many years on the Apalachicola River, but recently moved into the "downtown" area. We thought we'd really miss the water view, but, nope, the new place is great. We've been there two nights in a row for dinner. We've had the crab cakes, shrimp, & grouper & all were fresh &... More

Go food fresh was a little pricey. We got there late but was still served and the food was really fresh and good no complaints!

The fried food was average, but the cole slaw and baked beans were quite good. The quantity was generous (we split a platter and had plenty to eat), and the best was the service.

If you want real Apalachiacola oysters, this is the place to go. James shucks the oysters right in front of you if you eat at the bar, which I recommend for a true oyster bar experience. No this is not the best decorated restaurant in Florida and no, James is not the fastest shucker in the world but this is... More

It took us a bit to find them at their new location in downtown by the Inn. We were a bit put off by the exterior, but what can you expect considering the last location was rustic. Lots of new space. The food has remained high quality, fresh and good all around. We will be going back again and again... More

We've been going to St. George Island for 8 years and discovered Papa Joe's 4 years ago. The food is great. The service is excellent. The ambiance is the best. I will say that we missed being on the River this year but that's business. They were just as prepared for our large group of 21 as they always are.... More

After a wonderful boat tour of the bay and waterfront, we asked our guide for a dining recommendation. Papa Joe's topped his list. And after almost two decades of visiting Apalachicola, this place is now on our list of favorites. Go for the food and attentive service. We'll be returning often.

I always liked Papa Joe's- in their old location down by the marina, there was a certain ambiance and you were able to watch the boats come into the marina and watch the wildlife on the water. So I was a little apprehensive when they moved to downtown Apalachicola. The ambiance is gone as far as location, but the interior... More

The food was very good. The shrimp was fresh and delicious. This place was crowded on a Monday night. It appears to be a favorite restaurant for the locals.
