I almost hate to write this review of Papa Joe's as it has been my favorite restaurant in Apalach for about 4-5 years and has already been discovered by enough folks. On a tip from a St George Island resident, we tried this place. We should have gone here years ago. The food was wonderful -- keep in mind that this is Panhandle Florida where fried seafood is the local specialty, and when in Rome -- and our waitress was extremely accomodating and professional. Restaurant was hot, service was horrible and food wasn't that great. Not worth the time or money, low class people eat here! I'm not sure what is worse - this or the Blue Parrot on SGI! more

Some folks like Liberace too. But Papa Joes was packing them in the night I was there and contrary to other comments it seemed mostly out of towners rather than the mythical locals. We are a regular to the area and have been going for sometime. Papa Joe's has the best oysters in town and at a good price. You must consider the atmosphere for what it is, a small town local joint, with good food! more

Papa Joes is great! The service is one of a kind,with a staff that you could chat with for hours. The view:breathtaking. Food wasnt bad either! I would highly recommend Papa Joes. I would like to say though, with the fullest respect, I noticed some complaints in the other reviews about the decor and/or atmosphere being one of lower class.... more
