It took us a bit to find them at their new location in downtown by the Inn. We were a bit put off by the exterior, but what can you expect considering the last location was rustic. Lots of new space. The food has remained high quality, fresh and good all around. We will be going back again and again... More

We've been going to St. George Island for 8 years and discovered Papa Joe's 4 years ago. The food is great. The service is excellent. The ambiance is the best. I will say that we missed being on the River this year but that's business. They were just as prepared for our large group of 21 as they always are.... More

After a wonderful boat tour of the bay and waterfront, we asked our guide for a dining recommendation. Papa Joe's topped his list. And after almost two decades of visiting Apalachicola, this place is now on our list of favorites. Go for the food and attentive service. We'll be returning often.

I always liked Papa Joe's- in their old location down by the marina, there was a certain ambiance and you were able to watch the boats come into the marina and watch the wildlife on the water. So I was a little apprehensive when they moved to downtown Apalachicola. The ambiance is gone as far as location, but the interior... More

The food was very good. The shrimp was fresh and delicious. This place was crowded on a Monday night. It appears to be a favorite restaurant for the locals.

We are a large family with 6 children we went here on the 3rd of July, 2014. The food was very good with good service. We are locals and enjoy the food. We didn't enjoy the 18 percent gratuity added to our bill because we're a large family. We had 3 main dishes and 5 kids meals. I'm a very... More

We had been to Papa Joe's nine years ago. At that time it was located at Scippo Creek Marina. We headed down the road to the marina, when we saw a sign that Papa Joe's had relocated to "D" Street downtown in Apalachicola. The place was very crowded and we had about a 20 minute wait for a table (we were... Wanna lose a tooth? This manager (or owner) is chancing some serious liability by trying to save money on equipment. Waited quite a while to speak with a manager while food got cold over the disgusting clusters of nasty barnacles and seaweed hanging off raw oysters and specialty oyster appetizers. He did not care, was unsympathetic, and unconcerned when I... More

We ate at Papa Joe's for lunch. They recently moved to the current location. The atmosphere was rather bland, but the food was very good. I had a shrimp po-boy and my wife had a salad. Good portion size. Our server was friendly and other staff seemed to be also.

Papa Joe's doesn't have the view of other restaurants in Apalachicola, and there's not much that's memorable except for the food itself. But in Florida's seafood coast, that's what we wanted. Papa Joe delivers quality. Five of us went for lunch during the busy 4th of July week and each person in our party agreed it was among the best... More
