My husband got a steak called "The Carpetbagger". It was so tough with sinew that it was inedible. We learned our lesson. If you want a steak, go to a steakhouse. Caroline's has little else on the menu but seafood. We have eaten there before, and the seafood was fine. We are not the kind of people to make a... More

Nicer place in Apalachicola, perhaps a bit over-rated. We did breakfast, which may not represent Caroline’s strengths. Service was quick, but disorganized. Real tablecloths and napkins and everything – a bit different than others in town. Only 4 other patrons were in the place, so our relatively normal orders took 5-10 minutes longer than they should have. Food acceptably yummy,... More

Food is good; especially breakfast/brunch; always enjoy the crabcakes benedict. Service can be alittle slow...

We only ate here as part of our "bed and breakfast" but were very impressed with the food. The portions were huge and the oyster omelet was wonderful.

(Originally written for Yelp). OK, Apalachicola is a part of what is called "the forgotten coast" and the area, including the lovely St. George Island (where we vacation as often as we can), is pretty laid back in terms of pace, dress, and dining experience. (This is what Florida used to be like.) If you are one of those folks... More

Okay, this is what I ate - description directly from the menu: Pan-roasted Grouper-corn Steps Off The Cob Into Elegance with lemon thyme, roasted garlic, lump crabmeat and white corn brown butter sauce. Fresh off the boat local gulf grouper - I AM hooked! Need I say more???!!! OMG....soooo good!!! Can't wait for a return trip to Apalachicola!

We had breakfast here every Sunday during the winter. Our server, Lisa was just fantastic. She reserved our table for us every Sunday morning and had our selected beverages waiting for us. The food is marvelous and Lisa's attention made each visit special. We are now sadly leaving SGI for this year and are looking forward to returning next winter.
