Last year while visiting Apalachicola, we had a wonderful breakfast at Caroline's and had hoped to repeat that experience again today. Sadly, we had a very disappointing meal. The disinterest of the server should have been our first clue. Even though the restaurant was not busy, it seemed to take forever for our server to show up to take our... More

Boss Oyster was too crowded (we eventually went there instead), so we tried here. The waitress said they were completely out of oysters (the only reason to come to Apalachicola). We drank our beers and left. And then had plates and plates of oysters at Boss Oyster.

Many years ago when we first found St. George/Apalachicola this was where we always ate. Over the years the quality has gone down. On our last visit the fish was way over breaded and too salty. I've gotten better at fast food seafood restaurants. Great venue but we won't be back.

Used to be one of our favorite places, but each trip seemed to have found it a bit slipped downward from the previous one. Last time, May 2014, service was slow and my wife's "pan seared crab cake" must have been cooked a day or so previously because it was still "refrigerator cold" in the center. This trip we're skipping... More

We have a house in the island and Caroline's is our first stop. Dinner was wonderful we had the special Grouper with black beans and rice and at a taragon sauce. LOVED IT. Service is always friendly fast and they have great southern hospitality. We loved breakfast. At times may take a bit for the food to come out. But... More

Wife and I went for breakfast at recommendation of a friend. Nice outdoor deck on water (best part!). I ordered oyster cakes and sunny-side-up eggs. Also came with homefries and biscuit. One would think that an oyster dish in Apalachacoloa would be stellar, right? Tasted like paste! Eggs were cooked hard, potatoes old, cold and greasy. Biscuits had strong freezer... More

I think everyone in my party got the All American Breakfast ($11) with some combination of sausage bacon and/or ham and sunny side up. The food at this place was very good. Especially the hand squeezed orange juice. Actually I can probably say it's the best OJ I've ever had. My girlfriend said the bacon was amazing. The restaurant itself... More

We managed to have outdoor scenic seating and it took about 15 min. For our order to be taken for drinks or appetizers. There were few tables with customers that evening. We ordered our food and 90 minutes later, it was finally served. We noticed one couple walked out after waiting for drinks way too long. They comped our drinks,... More

A local told us about Caroline's. We arrived and there weren't any customers in the dining room but us. There was a nice view of the intracoastal waterway, and yet the decor was not to my taste, but the food made up for that in spades. I ordered scallops and a crab cake with a sauce and it not only... Went to Caroline's for dinner on Monday August 18 based on a terrific breakfast we had some time ago. It was a bit warm but there was a gentle breeze so we decided to sit in the screened in gazebo out on the water. Alana was our delightful server who promptly greeted us and briefly explained the specials and made... More
