Lunch at the Owl in Apalachicola, Fl

Wonderful lunch at the Owl Café. The menu has lots of fresh seafood that is caught right in the bay surrounding the quaint town of Apalachicola. One of the highlights they serve with French fries (if you ask for it) is the MMH sauce. Mayonnaise, Mustard and Horseradish. It is also great on fried... read more

If you are vegan, The Owl has a vegan jambalaya which is very good. They are sensitive to vegan diets. If you are a carnivore then you have many choices -- their hamburger is delicious. My son had the gator and pork sausage creole and said it was delicious. Lunch portions arerather small; we were not full when we left.... More

We came here three times during our recent vaca to SGI. Food was consistently very good. Had excellent service the first two visits but ion our third visit our waitress was a ball of stress and we felt rushed and really did not enjoy it was much. Highly recommend the crab cake appetizer. Side salads with itlalian poppyseed dressing and... More

On a recent trip to Apalachicola, we ate dinner twice at The Owl Cafe. My husband had been there previously and loved it, so back we went. We were not disappointed. Everything we ate on each occasion was beautifully presented, perfectly cooked, and efficiently and gracefully served. What a gem in a town that seems to support an amazing number... More

Good service, outstanding food . . . horseradish dressing, soft shell crabs, oysters on the half-shell, fried shrimp (lightly breaded!) and jambalaya were outstanding. Part of the Apalachicola experience!

What thr Owl cafe lacks in ambiance, it make up for in quality of local seafood. The fried shrimp is wonderfully crisp and juicy. There is plenty of it on the plate. Others at my table had similar comments about their grouper, oysters, and Red Snapper meals. The side vegetables left something to be desired but were satisfactory. The fries... More

Great staff - very polite and my two year old loved chattering with the waitress and hostess! Brought him crayons and drew on the table with him! The chicken linguini is amazing!!

Look forward to eating here whenever I'm in town. Always good cold beer. Pork tacos are amazing. Deserts are different every night. The chocolate mousse was divine and the Pinot noir was a perfect blend with it. Thanks for suggestion. Have had different items over the years and always consistent and delicious!

Of our 3 nights in Apalachicola, we ate at the Owl twice. The food was excellent, the service was beyond professional, and the patio dining - with our dog! was lovely. We were so impressed with how well the servers were acquainted with the wine lists as well as the evening's specials. Salads and desserts were every bit as good... More

The Oyster Po-boy was fantastic. Tons of perfectly fried oysters for 11 dollars! The sauce it comes with is also the best I've had with seafood. The Hooter Brown Ale from Oyster City Brewery is awesome, too! Worth a visit. We are going back to this wonderful downtown area in Apalachicola and will certainly revisit the Owl Cafe!
