Food was excellent. We had a dozen raw oysters and shared the fried seafood platter. It was a lot of food and cooked to perfection. View of bay was very relaxing. Only negative would be the cheap vinyl table cloth had definitely seen better days. But we were there for the food so no real complaints. Definitely worth trying.

Boss Oyster was super crowded on the night we gave it a try. The hostess was polite and helped to get us a table in just a few minutes. She even took care of our beverage order since the waitresses were so busy, which we appreciated. The view of the bay is nice, the fans helped keep things cool. All... More

Decor rustic and old Florida. Sat at bar for dinner. Bartender was great. We had key west, capt jack, traditional char oysters and a pound of head on gulf shrimp. Truly is nothing like fresh off the boat seafood. Loved it and would come back for more.

I have been to Boss Oyster 20+ times. Great view of water with shrimp boats headed out for the evenings work. This last trip the service has slipped to poor and the food went backwards a step as well. It is pricey for what you get but again the view is fantastic. Note, I do not eat oysters so oyster... More

We stopped in for a late lunch and were able to easily acquire a table. We sat on the deck, under one of the fans. The shrimp was fresh and I asked for it to be grilled - to which the kitchen added Old Bay seasoning. The shrimp was well prepared - not over grilled. The red beans & rice... More

The food was decent, but no seasoning what so ever. Food did come out quick and hot.... Server couldn't tell us if shrimp were de-vained or even try to find out. Other then that she was fine. Oh and the Sweet tea was WAY TO SWEET!!!!

Hostess was uncertain if she could seat seven at one table, we had to solve this problem ourselves. We then had to ask to have bird feces wiped off our table. Food was just adequate. Hip Hop music playing too loud. Atmosphere/view is amazing-almost makes up for poor food. (My mother asked that I add that the local cats are... More

This restaurant has been an Appalachicola standby for many years. It is on the water and offers a good view if seated on the deck. Prices are in line with other restaurants in the area. It does get busy at peak times. Our dinner was very good.

A friend and I decided to go to the Boss last Tuesday. The restaurant was on half full upon our arrival. I wanted the grouper sandwich despite the cost of $15. My friend ordered the bay scallop poor boy which I would recommend. They placed 18 perfectly cooked bay scallops on the roll. He gave the sandwich a thumbs up.... More
