We took a day trip to St. George Island and stopped here for lunch. The outside seating was porch picnic table and a beautiful view. We had an appetizer and it was very good. I don't eat oysters and had grilled shrimp. It was well seasoned and fresh. The grouper chowder was delicious and we recommend it. Our waitress was... More

Checked trip advisor before going and saw some negatives regarding the service and cleanliness but decided to give it a try anyway. Not sure if it was a bad day or reviewer with an issue, but we had a GREAT EXPERIENCE. Plenty of servers who all seemed very attentive including ours. Restrooms were very clean. Fried seafood was excellent and... More

Don't know if we visited on an off nite given the other reviews, but definitely my least favorite dinner in 7 days on the Gulf. I had grilled Jumbo shrimp--and they were not fresh, nor were they jumbo by any stretch of the imagination. Lucky if they were 31-40 sized shrimp....and they were oily---not very good. Corn fritters were tasty,... More

Stopped by after spending the day on St. George Island. It fit in with all the other local restaurants in appearance, waitresses were friendly, generally what you'd expect from a small town restaurant. If I were to go back it would only be for appetizers- although the grilled oysters were great, main dishes were over priced and lack luster. Ps.... More

Hey Ana, P.S., The bathrooms at the Boss Oyster are cleaned by the house keepers from our motel The Apalachicola River Inn at 8:15 A.M. each and every morning for the last 25 years. P.S. They are also checked in the afternoon, each and every afternoon, for the last 25 years. Larry Owner More

We had lunch at Boss Oyster today and the food was delicious, the service was was OK but nothing to brag about. The negative was the restroom, it was terrible and looked as if had not been cleaned in a week.

Don A, Thanks for visiting the Boss Oyster The day you were there was last Saturday on MLK birthday. The weather was pretty and about 8000 people were in attendance, many in the vicinity of the Boss Oyster. On that morning at 8:15 a.m. the housekeepers from our motel cleaned the bathrooms of the Boss Oyster, just as they have... More

They have a number of different rooms and even more ways to fix oysters. Known as one of the best places for oysters in the country for a reason - terrific! Slightly pricey but not awful.

Ate here twice (once for lunch, once for supper ). I had char-broiled oysters and grouper stew for lunch. Stew was lukewarm with an abundance of potatoes, VERY LITTLE grouper. The oysters were good. Husband had dozen raw oysters. He was a fan! Went back for supper on a Sunday night. It was NFL DIVISIONAL PLAYOFF SUNDAY and we were... More

Everything we tried was mediocre, at best. The grilled oysters were especially disappointing. Most dishes overcooked and/or poorly seasoned.

Drove from Tallahassee with friends for a long-anticipated fried oyster meal. Stick with the fried oysters, they were just as we had been told..fresh & delicious. Finding pieces of shell is a real turn-off for me. It's expected to find a stay one, but several in the fried basket as well as several in the oyster stew says "careless" to... More

Our family has visited Boss Oyster 50+ times over the last decade. The last few visits the service has been horrible and we will not be going back.
