My husband and I had dinner at Boss 2 out of the 3 nights we were in town and there at least once every time we are in town. The food is as always great and fresh. The new chargrilled oysters are fantastic.

The chilled (raw) oysters were delicious. Also enjoyed sitting on the shaded porch and the nice weather. My husband says the fried mullet were very good. I enjoyed the Journey's End sandwich. The seafood was delicious although the bread it was served on was pretty dry. Not very much olive salad served on the sandwich but enjoyed eating all of... More

This place took a nose dive a couple of years ago, and we switched to Up the Creek, down the street, for raw oysters. But we missed the fried oysters and thought we'd give Boss another try. Big mistake. Although the oysters are excellent, the rest of the food is overpriced and mediocre at best. Their "grouper fillet" was paper... More

I truly cannot believe you are back at it again. You said you came for the oysters which you said were excellent. But you could not pass up an opportunity to trash this restaurant. You cannot get over the fact that 3 years ago we changed french fries You say our grouper is paper thin and over breaded, an out... More

We walked from our hotel to this convenient restaurant and sat right on the water. We had delicious local oysters - much better than those we had earlier in the day - and my husband had the seafood sampler, which was also delicious. My buffalo shrimp were good, but not spectacular - stick to the local favorite!

Decent raw bar/seafood place/bar on the river in town, next to Caroline’s. Oyster tacos were great, shrimp basket was plentiful and good. Beach Bum drinks were tasty. Service from the exceedingly tattooed waitress was excellent. Oysters, shrimp and four drinks ran $60, not a bad deal.

We stopped at Boss Oyster on the recommendation of a friend who lives part time in Apalachicola on our way across the panhandle. We have never tried oysters on the shell before, but when in Oystertown, we had to give it a try. We ordered steamed oysters with parmesan and bread crumbs on them for an appetizer and found them... It has been a while but the Boss Oyster is still the BOSS! . Sitting out on the deck enjoying the sunshine, enjoying the view, enjoying a cold beer, and yes enjoying the absolute Best Oysters. Let me count the ways they are served topped- broiled or chilled- but the ultimate Best way to enjoy these bay pearls is when... More

This restaurant has a great view and wonderful food. The prices are a bit more than some of the other restaurants around, but the food is always great. There are no draft beers at this restaurant.

Arrived at 7:40 pm on Friday and stood with 14 other people waiting to put our name on a waiting list. After 20 minutes, NO ONE had acknowledged any of us waiting but wait staff walked past us and looked the other way. Won't be back.

Your review is wrong in so many ways, Our Friday evening staff is the best we have for the reason that we are busy. We would NEVER not acknowledge persons waiting. You could have planned a better arrival time to insure you and your children can eat. Oh and by the way, you waited 20 minutes to get on a... More

The fried oyster po' boy (burger, hoagie) is a Florida Gulf Coast signature dish. How could a well-known Apalachicola restaurant prepare a poor po' boy? Here's how Boss Oyster did it the other day. The fried oyster, sampled without any accompanying dressing, lettuce, or tomato, had a soggy coating, not crisp. The oyster itself had a runny consistency, not the... More

Sorry for your "bad day." I would have been disappointed too. I would have, however, brought it to the attention of my server. That way we could have resolved the problem right then. This would have been helpful to the Boss, also, as we could have found out what went wrong and corrected the problem internally. We have owned the Boss... More
