Friendly staff, casual indoor/outdoor dining. Dogs welcome on the dock. Some foods appear already in bowls and plastic containers, like coleslaw, and I had red beans and rice that was dried on top. Others got oyster dishes and were pleased. Small choice in dessert. A variety of old tables and chairs. I was uncomfortable in a low chair. Adequate meal.... More

The view on the bay is gorgeous if you like laid back, birds, and gulf wildlife. The service is always good, and the types of oysters were enticing. Tried smoked, steamed, Beinville and Rockefeller - all were good. But the best item on the menu this visit was the soft shell crab!

the location on the river makes for a laid back attitude needed when chowing down on apalachicola oysters right out of the bay. I own property on SGI and we take the boat over whenever we are there.

My husband and I discovered Boss Oyster in 2008 and LOVED IT! But something happened last year in 2013. We go to St. George Island every year for vacation the week after Labor. We couldn't wait to experience the atmosphere, service and food at Boss Oyster just like we've experienced prior years. The food was barely ok, service terrible, new... More

We ate here, despite the reviews, because it was the only place in town open on a Sunday afternoon. We were seated by the water - which stinks of trash. Our sodas were funky, had a distinct sulphur-smell to them. The menus had "Redfish" on them. If you are from Florida, you know that "Redfish" refers to Red Drum. This... More

The host was most ungracious and we felt as though we were imposing when we asked for a table that was not a picnic table. It took the waitress about 15 minutes before she took our order. My husband asked for a lime to go with his drink and she forgot to bring it. My drink, she just got wrong... More

XSplasa1Another recent review. What a waste never again O'quigley's oyster bar in Destin, I quote your rant. 2 fish sandwiches that were not cooked at all. Cisco fish and burnt everything. 20 minutes for water 30 minutes for grilled fish, lukewarm oysters no not ever again. Don't you ever get embarresed with your hatred? Well you got Tripadvisor they give you... More

Went in a Friday Night and the severs were great but too few for the number of takes they were attempting to serve. This is a rustic resturant and my kids were grossed out by the amount of bugs(we sat outside -they were dead by windows) The sea plater was $32 dollars and got 4 Shrimp. Highly disappointed in the... We have been coming to Boss for many years, each year for family vacation. It has been one of our favorites for the view and food. HOWEVER... This time we went to get the signature grand (shrimp) and grits with "jumbo gulf shrimp" and we got over mixed grits with bait shrimp. They said it was the popcorn shrimp that... More

Our grouper was 2 hours out of eating it! So super fresh and prepared perfectly! Oysters were fabulous. We only stayed in St. George area for 3 days and chose to eat here twice! A must for all!

We come from France where oysters are eaten in great quantities and are considered a delicacy, but are rarely grilled. We found the choice amazing and they were really good. So was the seared tuna. Service alittle slow but very friendly and warm. Would recommend sittingoutside next to the peaceful waterside
