Good lunch

This was our first trip to Tamara's, prompted by a $10 Restaurant.com coupon. It was a good experience, comfortable seating, good service and good food. my wife had the pork sliders and was surprised to find they were more 'sandwich' sized, loaded with pulled pork and coleslaw. I had the grilled... read more

After a few days of oyster omlette's, oysters on the half shell, oyster po boys... I was more than ready to eat anything that wasn't seafood. That is very hard to find in Apalachicola. We stumbled across Tamara's and they have their menu outside. While mostly seafood I was excited to see a Frenched Pork chop on their specials. The... More

Terrific flounder tacos, wonderful if you are a single traveler and want to sit at the bar and listen to the local entertainment.

...but we would have been okay with a slightly smaller portion and a little more attention to flavor. The scallop papillote special was attractive, and the scallops were juicy, but it needed a bit of oomph. The oyster stew was rich and delicious, and the fried oysters had just the right dusting of cracker meal.

This place, while maybe they could use some improvements in their service, was an overall pleasant and satisfying dining experience for my husband and I. The special, a crayfish and mahi mahi pasta, was so good!! Our server seemed a little lacking in knowledge of the menu (for example, when we asked about beers, she commented that she didn't drink... My wife and I visited Apalachicola a couple of times during our visit to St. Joseph Peninsula State Park. We ate lunch there and were pleased with the variety of offerings. The wait staff was attentive and the meal prince was reasonable. We'll definitely be back.

Our visit to Tamara's was on a Saturday evening in late January. The restaurant was half full, and even though we had a reservation we were seated at what turned out to be the worst table in the place. My seat had a direct view into the kitchen, and I spent the evening watching servers scrape food into the garbage... More

A simple menu with fabulous food, that is always high on our satisfaction list. The 'Muddy Waters' coffee has a delicious flavour that we always associate with Tamara's Cafe breakfast.

We've eaten here at least once on every one of a dozen trips to Apalachicola. Always the freshest seafood and new and exciting ways to eat it. Now, this is Apalachicola so it's not anywhere close to formal. But that's the best part. We take our two border collies and sit outside (Apalach is extremely pet friendly) even in January... More

Tamara's is a great place but lunch and dinner. It offers fresh, authentic food, has a great wine list and has the friendliest people working there. A funky atmosphere adds to the mood of this restaurant. If you go for lunch you have to try the crab cake quesadilla and black bean soup - homemade everyday.
