2 blocks or so off the beaten path

This is a hidden jewel. It's off the beaten path but we'll worth the rerouting. It's in a neighborhood and it's pretty simple. No fancy outside facades. Inside it's open and spaced out. We were there on a Saturday night and there was a modest crowd, but plenty of room for more. Our... read more

This is the place locals go to in Apalachicola for fried chicken and barbecue. Located off the beaten path, in a part of town mostly populated with black folks, most tourists would not stumble upon it. Wait staff is very friendly, service good, food is good.

We stopped in for chicken wings and shrimp. Both were really good. We also tried their home fries (battered French Fries) also good. The waitress was very attentive and friendly. This place is a little off the beaten path but do not be fooled it is well worth the visit. Our visit was on a Thursday night. They were not... More

Ny sister just moved to Apalachicola and I decided to come down and see the town for myself. I stayed for 5 days and must say that out of every where that I went, Ajs was simply the friendliest and best place in the entire town. Don't let the location fool you or steer you away from some of simply... More

Read the good reviews and decided to try the place out. We went on a Thursday night and the place was almost empty. when we ordered drinks they were out of the lemonade drink my daughter wanted so she decided on sprite, they were out. The pop was cans so I was surprised they couldn't run down the street and... More

Don't miss AJ's! They make the best fried chicken in about a 200 mile radius! They have a daily buffet that always features their chicken as well as other Southern-cooked items. This is a good place for lunch and dinner. The service is always friendly, quick, and pleasant. You may have to wait just a bit for your chicken (about... More

I'm so glad me and my family picked AJ's the other night. The reviews I've read haven't been good but I found out otherwise when we ate the good southern fried chicken. We came in as a 13 top and every single one of us loved it!!! We will MOST DEFF BE BACK. Thanks AJ's

We arrived after a large group just left (??). They were sold out of the two of the main items and out of one of their specialty deserts. The fried chicken was good but not the best I have ever had. AJ"s was hard to find and the street lighting in the area was dark and a bit imposing at... More

I am a local and I LOVE to support our local businesses and I once loved AJ's, but after them consistently getting our orders completely screwed up I refuse to go back. It was bad enough waiting 45 minutes on an average for a to go order, but add not even remotely getting what you ordered to it is beyond... More

I went to AJ's with a group of women, and we ordered our chicken ahead of time; otherwise it would have taken 30-45 minutes, because it's fried as it's ordered. It was DELICIOUS!! Very southern, and cooked to perfection. Sides were very tasty and the atmosphere was pleasant. We will go again, but definitely we'll order ahead rather than sit... More
