Pricey but great

Had to have the world famous Apalachicola oysters. They did not disappoint. Also had crab cakes which were also great. Service was good. Location even better.

This is a popular spot and a nice location to sit out on the river, but the food is pricey and just so-so...the typical fried seafood and they do have some specials. Staff was good...food just not up to par.

The staff was local and colorful (lots of "honeys") and the bar setting fun but the quality of the seafood was mediocre. It was reasonably priced, though...

Was excited to come, but quickly was disappointed with the service. The Southern fella oysters were fantastic, fried grouper was excellent but the fish tacos were average. With drinks, desserts and main courses for 3 people dinner was $92. For a shack eatery, that's too rich for my blood.

You order at the register/order desk, you are given a number and have it delivered to your table. Unfortunately they did get our order wrong and nothing was done to compensate my friend and I. The seafood is good but the menu is limited. The one issue I had eating in Apalachicola was that most of the dishes are served... More

We visit Up The Creek every time we visit Apalachicola. The view of the river from the window seats and deck is always a treat, and oysters are a house specialty eight different ways. But, having become familiar with the restaurant, there are a few aspects that keep it from being top-tier. The beer selection is small, and not especially... More

On the second floor, this restaurant overlooks the river, a great view. When you enter, a hostess gives you menus and tells you how to place your order. A waitress will bring your food to the seats you've chosen. We sat at a counter with a view of the river. Had it been warmer and less windy, there was an... More

I have been gluten free for 18 years by necessity - we spend several months a year in NW FL and eating out is frustrating (much fried food I can't eat)!!! Twice last month I asked I could get clam sauce with rice noodles and they said YES! So, I had white clam sauce once and red clam sauce once!... More

We make a point to eat here at least two times each week we visit the area. We always get a dozen raw oysters and 1/2 doz baked. I tried classic and Southern Fella this week. Both were great. The oysters were on the smaller side this year so they gave us extra. Our daughter tried the alligator empanadas one... More
