I was so disappointed in the stuffed shrimp. Waiter asked how everything was, I told him I was disappointed in my meal. He wandered away. Didn't ask again. My friend got the seafood pasta and said it was great. I didn't fuss about it but would have loved the waiter to try to make it better. I won't be back.

I have come to the sign of the mermaid three times for breakfast and each time I loved it. First of all it is a great atmosphere. The people are very nice. And the food is even more great. I always go for the breakfast special, that is one meal for 4 dollars. It is a great deal. The one... More

My wife had the chicken florentine. It was really delicious! I had the grouper and was not quite as impressed with it as I had hoped to be. Overall, the food was good, the service was great, and the dessert was excellent! The key lime pie was fantastic. Can't wait to go back just to get another piece!

First, the odor in this place made the entire meal very unpleasant. It is set in an old home that smells very musky and like it has mold. I sneezed during the entire meal. The service is slow. I had the grouper and it was a very average meal. The desserts are fabulous and I would stop to get a... More

We have gone to the Sign of the Mermaid for 6 years running. We have been for Easter Brunch, Easter Dinner, breakfast, dinner. Every time we have gone the food has been great, the service excellent. Love their ceasar salad! Prices are high, but worth it!

I have never had a bad dinner experience here. Sometimes the service is a little laid back, but I am never in a hurry here. I enjoy every meal I have ever had. The owner Ed, seems to always be on the grill...and I thank him.

Converted house with eclectic furnishings. Charming atmosphere and sophisticated menu. Food is good but pricey. Avoid ordering individual items from menu and stick to specials and combination dinners. The same item is 1/2 the menu price on special page. Breakfast is special.

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel, along with a few other options. I love quaint, local places and I was really looking forward to eating breakfast here. I loved the old home setting. So our first morning, we went straight to them. We had a wait for a table, which was completely understandable. When we did get our table,... More

Went to Sign of The Mermaid last night for the last time. Sad but true! We have been going to this restaurant now for many years, I would guess 10 for our anniversary (and other occasions) and each time we go back we say we won't do it again. While our service was fine there was a table next to... More

I read a couple of reviews before going to this restaurant which put me off slightly. However, my experience of this restaurant is one of great service, excellent food and a great atmosphere. The blackened swordfish and sushi grade tuna were absolutely awesome. I am lucky enough to be in this area for a few more days so will be... More
