I was looking for a very quaint, quiet setting to take two of my friends for a retirement dinner. I sure found it ! The location on Anna Marie Island was great, we were able to walk across to the Gulf of Mexico. The waitress was more than perfect, the menu was very original and we had the best stuffed... More

LOVE the Sign of the Mermaid--especially their wonderful breakfasts/brunches!! The charm of the old cottage is very apparent and it is quite interesting. The owners have won several national food competition awards, and they are well deserved!! Don't miss it!!

Excellent spot for breakfast. Easily able to accommodate (with call ahead) a party of 13 women finishing up a Bachelorette weekend. Service was great, food was incredibly (the omelettes, french toast and mimosas were yummo) .... great drink specials and the pie looked AMAZING! Everyone in our group raved about our food, servers were very attentive to our needs even... More

I don't feel like I have been to Anna Maria Island if I don't have their Key Lime Pie. It is the best I have ever had - a unique recipe! Will be back soon! I have been coming here for a few years now~

What a quaint little place! We stopped for breakfast, and were far from disappointed. The only thing that I have to say about the creme brûlée French toast as that I am sorry I did not try it stuffed! The regular was delicious, but stuffed must be close to perfect! The sausage was tasty as well. How someone leaves without... More

This is "slow" season, and we were able to get right in to a very popular French-Country style restaurant right here on little Anna Maria Island, no reservation needed. Clean, quiet, fast service, and an experience that makes one think"hurry back, try another dish". We wanted to eat light, and each chose a salad and appetizer. My wife had watercress... More

My wife and I have dined at Sign of the Mermaid over several years, and have never had a bad dish; instead, they are always delicious - compliments to Chef Ed Spring. We lived in south Louisiana for 30 years and dined at the best restaurants in New Orleans and Baton Rouge. Sign of the Mermaid is equal to them.... More

I am a local. Stopped by for the first time today. The hostess was great! The server was just okay. The female server kept giving me crossed looks and she wasn't even the person waiting on me. The food was amazing, but a little overpriced. I mean $4.00 for a side of meat is a little pricey for me. Because... More

I was so disappointed in the stuffed shrimp. Waiter asked how everything was, I told him I was disappointed in my meal. He wandered away. Didn't ask again. My friend got the seafood pasta and said it was great. I didn't fuss about it but would have loved the waiter to try to make it better. I won't be back.
