Great location with great food.

Great location at the end of the pier. It's a small place and very popular, so expect to wait to be seated. We visited for early dinner so were ok. Parking is tight, so we walked along the beach to it. The food was really good - plenty of choice, and as you would expect, lots of fresh fish... read more

I've been eating Florida Grouper for decades. Real (legally caught) Gulf Grouper is unmistakably white, flaky, & tender yet firm. Legal lengths are a (minimum) of 20"-22" (except for a Scamp Grouper/ 16"). So when you get a fillet that is shaped like a fish and is 8" long, something just doesn't add up. The (supposedly) Grouper here was fishy... More

Glad it was rebuilt after the fire. We fish here & have a few beers. Great local color. We visit every year when we come for our vacation. Would not be a trip to Anna Maria without a visit to "the pier".

We tried to go to the city pier but they were closed so we went to the rod and reel instead. We had the blackened Gulf grouper sandwich and it was the best fresh fish we had on the island. The price was reasonable. .. actually it was the cheapest meal we had on the island. We would definitely return.

What a great location! Also worth walking along the beach to get there. It's back to basics in this little shack on the pier. Very friendly service and simple tasty food. It's all about the fish and they have a daily specials. Worth going for sunsets which are stunning! You will also see Dolphins swimming around the peer. Well worth... More

There is not one thing . The meal was perfect. My friend had to get carry out for us. I can't walk that far. It is quite a hike. Maybe they will get a delivery service so the disabled could enjoy their food

Was always a great fan of the Rod & Reel: old Florida feel, great food, good value. There was a fire there a year or so ago and I hadn't been back until recently. There were seats available on Friday at 7pm - that should have been a warning. Other than the beautiful hostess, the place was a disappointment: the... More

Seated on arrival, which has been the case every time we have visited, the food was very good, we started with clam strips, then the almond and coconut crusted mahi and my partner had chicken, washed down with a very palatable house merlot, the views and sunset were stunning

The pier was a nice place to talk a walk, see some fish and birds. We didn't go fishing, but if you fish, this is a must!

We - a party of 2 adults and kids aged 5 & 8, had an early dinner and we enjoyed it very much. Fresh fish specials for the adults and hot dogs for the kids. Saw our first manatee in the wild, it just swam under the pier, we were so excited! It isn't fancy, but it doesn't claim to... More
