Do not dine here if you are looking for 5-star seafood! But if you want to soak in the water, views of the Skyway Bridge and the occasional dolphin, it's a great option. Be prepared to wait but you can grab a drink (or two) and sit outside and look at the water. The menu has some upper-end items on... More

We waited 90 minutes for a table after being told it was a 45-60 minute wait. The wait wasn't so bad, however, bc the atmosphere is amazing and we enjoyed watching the dolphins swim nearby. But, the food was not worth the wait. While the clam chowder was delicious, the grilled shrimp was dry and even appeared to have freezer... More

Had an early dinner here on our last night of vacation. What an amazing view with great food and service. Got the swordfish, grouper sandwich and amberjack all lightly blackened. Everything was delicious. Lots of fun to watch people fishing off the pier.

Really this is a beautiful spot! Best location on the island with amazing views. I'm not sure how you could help it, but there were flies swarming our table so it didn't feel clean. My food was scant...I ordered the Po boy and it was poor...there were all of four pieces of oyster on a BIG piece bread with lots... More

We have been hearing about the Reuben grouper sandwich for years and finally got to the Rod and Reel to try one. It was absolutely wonderful!!!!! The grouper was golden brown and the other components.....sauerkraut, cheese, and perfectly toasted rye bread........were right on the mark. We love this place!!!!

We went to eat here multiple times and my whole family agreed, it was the best seafood we had the entire week! It takes a while to wait, so get there early... but watching the sunset and dolphins are worth it...

We ate there for lunch. We had Very good Fresh clam strips. Very tasty and juicy. Hamburgers were OK. Their fries were very good. We saw Dolphins come right up to the pier and Manatees. Was a great Surprise for my family. We also had breakfast there one morning. Nothing Special just OK.

We passed on trying Rod and Reel the past 2 years, so made it a must do for lunch this year. Our party of 8 (including 4 and 6 year olds and 2 octogenarians) made it in time to score the last 2 inside tables available. The view is outstanding, beautiful, with boats and jet skis and fishermen to watch.... More

This is one of our favorite places. The seafood is fresh, plentiful, and cooked any way you like it. Beer is cold, staff is friendly, and scenery is beautiful. All this for a very reasonable cost! If you have to wait, get a drink at the bar downstairs, sit on a bench and enjoy the fresh breezes, lapping water, and... More
