The restaurant doesn't take reservations so there can be a bit of a wait for table but the bar and the setting on the benches along the pier watching the birds and the sea is a great distraction. Great friendly service as we found everywhere in the area. Good food at good value. We went back twice.

t's 5 stars for the best low-brow Florida pier. My husband and I come here every time we visit Anna Maria. In my mind this kind of low brow is disappearing off the Island and it's so necessary. This is the Florida I grew up in. Surrounded by salty air, fish, affordbale beer, one of the best Grouper Sandwiches, and... More

We stayed on Longboat Key for a week and found this place. It was very small and at first seemed to be just for locals but after a few visits, we found it to be a very nice place to visit for cocktails or a meal. It is very nice to be out on the water and eat dinner, enjoy... More

Always great food, especially seafood omelet! Great view, I take everyone here when they visit and we always repeat before they go home! Well worth the visit, every time!

Sunday morning breakfast mid April. Get there early, place has limited seating. Located above fishing pier. Food is good, good portions, fast service. One of the best views on the island.

We finally got back to the 'new' Rod & Reel Pier Restaurant after it suffered a destructive fire emergency last November. December it didn't reopen, January 2014 still closed, February 2014 we left for a bit, April we're back AND it's open!!!…AND better than ever!!! Just a 20 minute on a beautifully sunny day, waves rolling on the horizon. 20... More

We have been coming here to eat breakfast for almost 20 years. It was always fantastic . tragically a fire destroyed the place a bit , although it was redone and looks great, the owner seems to gave.used the remodel for a excuse to make portions smaller, more expensive and just not good..its a damn Shame.one of my favorite places... Our son was visiting from Philadelphia so we wanted him to experience the Rod and Reel! It was a disaster! When we got there found the wait would be 1 hour and 45 minutes! We tried to get a beer for ever and the downstairs bar and never got waited on. In the meantime, we looked at the menu and... More

This restaurant was recommended by friends and did not disappoint! The grouper was excellent. My 10 year old proclaimed the chicken tenders great! The Cole Slaw had a great island flair. It's a real casual place with an amazing view. We even saw a dolphin while we waited for a table. Hope to make it back before we leave.
