The Rod and Reel is back to its comfortable, delicious self after a fire. Great cheeseburgers ("in paradise"). Sit inside or outside - the views are wonderful, staff is friendly, and the beer is cold. We timed it just right to enjoy a beautiful sunset.

We were gutted last year when we were in AMI and the Rod n Reel caught fire. Back again this year and was glad to see it had been restored and open again. We were not disappointed, food is still amazing, the best fresh fish on the island, stunning views whilst still being a traditional quaint place. Nice to see... More

Food was excellent. It is a very old pier restaurant but it was very clean and the staff very friendly. They had a lot of catch of the day specials to choose from. When we ordered burgers, the waiter was quick to recommend other restaurants on the island that served good burgers. We would definitely go back.

We never miss eating here whenever we are in town. The reasonably priced food tastes fresh and wonderful with fast service and a great view of the bay.

A great place to go for the sunset. Food is really good, weve been there for dinner and breakfast. Bring some time, they are pretty small, it can take some time to wait for a table. But its worth it. After the sun has set, better get a table inside, my mother and wife had some flying insects falling on... More

Sitting upstairs at the end of a pier watching people fish, dolphins, and manatees! Add great food and you have it made!

This place is my family's favorite restaurant on Anna Maria Island. We like it so much, I'm almost afraid to write this review because it will become "discovered" more than it already is. First, the fish is wonderfully prepared and they don't skimp on portion size. This is just what you want in a seafood place. The selection is good;... More

We had two versions of snapper and it was wonderful. Rod & Reel is such a fun spot. While you wait to be seated someone is sure to catch something interesting. Great views and old Florida charm. This is not "fine dining" but it is "fun dining". We will remember this anniversary.

This restaurant has delicious food in a unique setting. At the end of a 100 foot pier on Tampa Bay, one feels like they are eating in the middle of the bay. Extremely picturesque!

Enjoyed watching people fish and just admiring the view while dining upstairs. Had the catch of the day, blackened of course-- awesome! Saw a huge manatee swim under the pier!
