Great View Good Food

We both had the Grouper sandwiches which were OK but they should be great for $16 a piece. The dinner menu looked pricey but I have heard the breakfast is the best value here. Service was good and would definitely go back.

I don't mean to rain on anyones parade but the place was nothing but a room with a lot of noisy children, servers who did not smile or care to be there. Food was fair, over priced for the quality. IF you settle for lower level places then this is the place. I can not personally understand it getting high... More

We heard that you have to go early around 5pm if you want to get a table right away. This is always a sign of a good place to eat and they weren't wrong. Got there around 5:15 and our table of 7 and 1 child was seated immediately. I had the blackened chicken with veggies and their famous fries.... More

We've been to The Rod & Reel Pier Restaurant for breakfast the past three summers during each of our week long stays on AMI. We always enjoy their great breakfast selections and our service is always top notch. I highly suggest you visit The Rod & Reel Pier Restaurant for breakfast. The view of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge and Tampa... More

Waited about half an hour for a table around 1:00. Had heard this place was really good. The location of this place was great out over the water but we thought the food was just average. We had the fried grouper sandwich, Mahi Mahi sandwich and shrimp salad. They were kind of bland. The service was nice though. Our waitress... More

We visited the Rod & Reel Pier as a storm was coming in on the Gulf. Now just seeing the storm pass by made sitting out that far on the pier wonderful. The service was very good, we only had drinks and apps, but both were very good. Looking around at the other tables the meals looked big and good.

We've been coming to Anna Maria for years, but this was our first time visiting the legendary Rod n' Reel -- and we were not disappointed. Our server Christine was friendly, engaging and attentive. The grouper dinners were large and very tasty portions -- outstanding, really. And finally, the one and only dessert on the menu: Key Lime pie --... More

Waited 45 minutes for a table and they had no way to get our grandmother up the stairs. Avoid if you need assistance with stairs or handicapped.

We lucked into a view by the window which was outstanding. I could have sat there forever. While my husband RAVED about his grouper sandwhich, I was underwhelmed by my steak sandwich and onion rings. The onion rings were actually soggy... and I LOVE onion rings. As I told him though, I'd eat about anything for the view. As we... More

Typical seafood restaurant greasy spoon food with a flair. The flair is the view. Watch the people fishing and the boaters as they cruise by . Look for the occasional Dolphin or better still maybe you will spot a Manatee . Watching the Pelicans dive for their "catch of the day "or possibly one of the local Ospreys . What... More
