Having read some other reviews, in my experience I have to disagree. We visited at around 5 PM on 28th December and the place was full to the rafters with people queuing. We waited about 40 minutes for a table and when we did sit down our server was Wendy (I think) who could not have been nicer. She attended... More

great location on the beach!! Really enjoyed the grouper sandwich, a must when in Florida! service was attentive, and food quality was good. Can see why this is a favorite place for so many locals and visitors.

I would agree with other reviewers, high prices for average food. It was our first meal of our vacation. My husband had the crab cake sandwich and fries. There was too much bun and not enough meat. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich, the chicken was so tough I couldn't bite through it and I ended up cutting it into... More

We have eaten at the restaurant several times. The view is spectacular and is worth a stop at sunset. The service is inconsistent and the food is average at best. On our last visit the service was outstanding but more "Just OK" food. A return visit isn't likely since there are many good restaurants on or in the area of... More

My family went to the Sandbar on AMI to celebrate my granddaughter's 18th birthday. We have vacationed on AMI for the past five years the week before Christmas. Each visit we eat at the Sandbar at least once. This time was a real disappointment. One of the dinner specials was grouper at $24. The grouper was not the size of... More

Driving thru Anna Maria Island, looking for a place to eat, we came across the sign for Sandbar Restaurant. After some exploring, we found the restaurant hidden behind palm trees on a little sandy road which sat right on the beach overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. The food was very good ranging from Bison burgers to any seafood you can... More

Sandbar is our favorite place to eat. Atmosphere, great food and drinks. I love the scallops. Have eaten here very many times. You will not be disappointed. It's a busy place, so don't go in a hurry. It's an experience. Also sells cute T-shirts, dresses and novelties not the cheap junk.

We enjoyed a beautiful sunset on the beach yesterday, with good food and drinks to match. We had 4 different apps between us and I had the Longboat Mahi - delicious. A nice atmosphere and our server, Ashley, was on it and very good too. Highly enjoyable. We will be back.

This place is a must visit (for one beer only... no food) so you can experience the incredible arrogance that infects restaurants where the new customers keep arriving regardless of the calibre of service you provide (or do not provide in this case). It was hysterical to watch the dozen or so staff mill around, share stories and generally have... More

My husband and I had the pleasure of watching the magnificent sunset Monday evening on the outside deck at the Sandbar. I read mixed reviews about the food and service prior to arrive. To be honest, after reading these reviews we were only staying for the sunset and a glass of wine. Then our server, Marley was so attentive, friendly,... More
