We were enchanted with the chairs and tables on the beach and our lunch was delicious! I had the coconut shrimp salad which was a very generous portion of mixed baby greens (beet, arugula, spinach, lettuce) with 6 coconut encrusted shrimp, walnuts and a mango puree. Delicious! My companion had the grouper reuben with cole slaw which was also very... More

in short: the kitchen simply lets down the location. We come every year during our vacation, and the food quality seems to get worse and worse. Menue static for years, food drowned in frying oil and arranged on plate in a very uninspiring way. You cannot beat the location though - hard to think of a better spot on this... More

We visit this resturant everytime we vacation here on the island. Both times our waitress has been excellant. Two times this vacation, once an early dinner and then a late dinner. Be prepared to wait if you want outdoor seating ours was 90 minutes but worth it for a late dinner. Make sure you put your bug spray on if... More

We ate here on Oct 15th. We had the coconut shrimp salad, grouper sandwich and two kids meals. Don't let the valet parking and exterior appearance fool you, the food at the Sandbar was by far the worst restaurant meal I have experienced in 2014. The salad and kids meals were dreadful, the grouper sandwich was barely okay. Cheap ingredients,... More

No better place to sit on the deck and enjoy the beach while awaiting your lunch, drinks or dinner. The inside has recently been renovated, but it's a poor second choice. And the food is pretty good, if a bit pricey. But you just can't buy that view, and it's an Island institution to try to guess the time of... More

We went for the view which was beautiful. We had to wait about 45 minutes for a inside table. Outside was over a hour wait. I expected great seafood but that was not what we got. Sorry but I would not go back.

The location alone sells this place, whether for a a leisurely lunch, sunset meal or a drink at the bar. We visited twice in 24 hours........it was that good! For dinner,we arrived about 40 minutes before sunset which was a lucky break as the views from this beachside spot are AMAZING as the sun goes down on the gulf. The restaurant is... More

As a family we love the Sandbar. It is harder to get a seat outside than in but whenever we have been the food and service has been great. It is directly on the beach and everyone goes outside for the sunset, they bang the gong when the sun is down. Its just a marvellous tradition. I went here for... More

Living in the UK we were impressed that there was a bar on the beach with such a nice view. We went there twice during our stay on the island and were impressed by the friendly service. Despite our friend saying the food wasn't the best - we ate french fries the first time so couldn't comment too much but... More
