At the front door to Saga a chalkboard entices with a description of varied, sophisticated specials. The hostess is friendly and welcoming. Looking good so far. Then she seats us at a miniscule table not quite large enough for two dinner plates and glasses of wine. I wondered why because there were only two other tables occupied in the entire... More

Went to Saga for our work holiday dinner with about 18 employees. Food was amazing- hot and cooked exactly to order. They have a wide selections of entrees and desserts. A lot of us ordered steaks and everyone said they were some of the best steaks they've ever had. I can't recommend this place enough! You have to try it!... More

My wife and I went to Saga for our 19th Anniversary (lunch meal). Food and service were excellent. Good choice of bottled beer and some nice, unique wines. We will be going back soon.

For a Saturday night, it was surprising there were not more people there. Salads were served promptly, but the main courses arrived before we were finished. At that point, the waiter and waitress did not move or remove any dishes, but asked us, the diners, to lift up our plates so that they could serve the main courses! In the... More

Located in the old Deneno's this restaurant has a very different menu from the usual Alachua fare. The service was great and the staff very friendly. Prices were reasonable. For lunch I had: Caribbean Flat: a sort of pizza with Blackened Chicken, Grilled Pineapple, Red Onion, and Mozzarella Cheese, finished with Tomatoes, Lettuce, Honey Chipotle and Coconut Lime Sauce. It... More

We were looking for a great meal in the Alachua, High Springs, Newberry area and decided to go into Alachua to try Leslie Baggett's new venture in cuisine, Saga of Alachua. We were delighted by the freshness of the food. Everything had such a distinct, fresh flavor from the Sangarita to the Key Lime dessert. My Chicken Gorgonzola with fresh... More

Saga is so much more that comfort food. If this is comfort food the chef never dined on 60s style comfort food at my house. Wish I had lived with him as a child! A better description would be eclectic, but small-town-charming urban cuisine with snazzy bar. Everything on the menu was tempting. The hummus was superb and caused me... More

Visiting from Valdosta area and discovered this delightful little restaurant tucked away in historic Alachua. Menu on door and we decided to take plunge. We were not disappointed. Refined tastes, pleasant atmosphere, delightful waitress who was so helpful in answering questions and making suggestions. Pleasant atmosphere and table setting to just support the wonderful meal! The salad dressing was wonderful,... More
