Just yes! Everything was perfect! Sat on a beautiful patio. Had the best bloody Mary ever (house infused veggie vodka)! The calamari was to die for and the salmon was killer. Not to mention our server was bursting with personality while not missing a beat in terms of service. Recommending this place to all my friends.

The ambience was lost as was the food quality when the Grist Mill moved to it's new location. We had a decent meal, but not the quality it should have been for the price. This was visit number five at the new location and probably the last.

I was very saddened to read your review on Trip Advisor. I would however like to respond to some of the key points that you made for some clarification. We are listening to what the people in the community are asking for and have been making some changes. - Unfortunately, we do know that we have lost some customers do... More

We have dinner here several times a year and the food and service is always good. It's a little pricey but better than most other similarly priced restaurants in our immediate area. One of the very nice things is that you can actually have a conversation both because of the way the restaurant is decorated--not a lot of hard surfaces--and... More

My family and I have been going to eat at The Grist Mill since it was located in Farmington. The food was always excellent. Since they changed locations, they are having trouble finding their stride. They lost those of us looking to dine with a water view, but we still returned occasionally for dinner or brunch for their signature dishes... More

We took a friend here last Friday evening, not having been to their new location since they had to leave their fabulous perch overlooking the Farmington River. Arriving for our 6:30 reservations, the first thing I noticed was that the restaurant was very nicely designed and comfortably decorated. The second thing I noticed was that it was almost empty...not an... More

Very nice restaurant. The food was very nice. I had the Clams casino to start it took quite awhile for the appetizers to come out but when they did they were hot and tasty. For dinner i ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese. The Bolognese was some of the best I have had but dinner did take a while to come out... More

Food was way overpriced and service was just average. The actual food was mediocre at best. I had the soft shell crab. It was so deep fried and so breaded and over sauced that it was hard to tell if there was really a crab in there. My wife had the prime rib special. $37 for a half pound of... More

I met an old friend there for happy hour drinks and bar food. I was really impressed by the coziness of the place, the expansive open air terrazzo and the quality of the service and the bar bites. I will go back for dinner!

I was drawn to restaurant by a bad review. I know that sounds crazy, but everyone can have a bad day. I love escargot and pâté so when I saw from the review that it was served at The Grist Mill I decided to take a drive out to Avon. Unfortunately I did not see either on the menu but... More

Everything, was great except the food. Service, bathrooms, 4 people , 3 separate entrees, different cocktails, wines, deserts, ports, cappuccino, etc. The food was fresh, but, too much saucing, ex escargot, couldn't even taste it. Nothing stood out that anyone would want again EXCEPT for the pate. That was/is great. If you love pate, just try that with cocktails. Have... More
