Good Service

Good German Homemade food, nice friendly people. Would be somewhere I would go back to, and invite friends to come along.

Having lived in Germany, we've been on the hunt for a GOOD German restaurant near Denver. We found it when we had lunch recently at Helga's. The lunch menu had so many of our favorites plus many, many sandwiches which could be made "our way." Three of us had Jaegerschnitzel, made with veal. Also had red cabbage, spaetzele, and fried... First of all, it has been a year since I was last at Helga's. Helga's no longer adds a service charge to the check. I asked the server today, since I noticed first thing upon entering that the sign explaining the service charge was removed. She confirmed that the service charge is no longer added. You pay for your food... More

Good German food, Great German beer on tap! Definitely worth checking out if you like food covered in gravy :) They also have a small deli inside the restaurant with baked treats and a few authentic German goods to pick from.

Even if you're not a huge fan of German food, give this place a try. I appreciated their beer samples affording savvy decision making.

Band Night is awesome, especially for for those who have lived in Germany and miss the beer garden feel. Food is pretty good, but the servers know they are already receiving a built in 20% tip so they don't always care to give the best service. Great company, great music and a definite flashback experience for this Army Brat.

The first time we tried this place we loved it! Wonderful German Gasthaus atmosphere, large portions of good food and a cute little store as well. Our second visit this time wasn't quite as good, new waitstaff wasn't as attentive and didn't know what Brotchen was. Still, the food was decent again and the atmosphere is wonderful.. Definitely worth a... More

Helga's is an Aurora icon. Sadly, though, it was disappointment. The food was so-so, and the service was unmotivated. The owners tack on a 20% service charge to the bill BUT the wait staff don't get it!

I have been to Helga's many times, both lunch and dinner. We were stationed in Germany for several years so I have a pretty good idea what good German food should be. Helga's menu reflects the Rheinland Pfaltz area. Be sure to bring a large appetite since the portions are quite generous. A good choice for an appetizer is the... More

I have never been to Germany but Helga's presents very good meals that appear to be authentic German cuisine. The food is tasty and presented well. Should I visit Germany I would hope to find food this good.
