Good but inconsistent

My first visit this vacation the food was amazing. The black cod cooked to perfection. Perfectly seasoned and truly delicious. Eggplant perfect. Friends salmon also cooked just right. Loved the spicy edamame too. Went back a few days later, and ordered the same meal... Looking forward to it, and... read more

Kenichi is a bustling Japanese restaurant in Aspen. A wide variety of sushi options are on offer in a menu that caters for everyone. Sushi is fresh and the seaweed is of a very high quality but the prices are extremely high even for Aspen. Noisy and waiters that seem disinterested.

Kenichi is one of our favorites restaurants in the Kona (HI) area... Imagine our delight seeing it as we drove through Aspen looking for parking. We reserved for the following evening, and had a wonderful dining experience. Great service, knowledgeable, friendly staff - and as usual for Kenichi - superb food. The sashimi was ocean fresh, the dynamite shrimp spicy... More

We stopped in to try out the sushi and we're not disappointed. We tried several things and enjoyed them all. We were pleasantly surprised to find out all rolls were half price during "happy hour". Worth a visit.

Kenichi fails to break the mold of most other restaurants in Aspen, providing mediocre service and ridiculously overpriced food. The wait staff exudes airs of expecting a substantial tip, without backing it up with an appropriate level of genuine friendliness and good service. The food itself is tasty, but the high prices and small portions will leave you hungry or... More

Let me start, for all intents and purposes, I am a local. I enjoy going out to eat but, I usually sick to my favorite spots, because they recognize and treat me well. I am also a server, so I am tolerant because I know how stressful the job can be, especially in Aspen. I went to a Kenichi for... More

Several years ago we reserved a table for four and upon arrival were duly seated next to the hostess podium by the restaurant entrance. The notable recollection of that dining event was people brushing back and forth by our table and the wholly indifferent service. This year we decided to give the place another try. Upon placing the reservation we... More

What a way to start off our meeting. We have had 3 corporate meetings at Snowmass and our go to place for the First Dinner is Kenichi. We have a blast and the food and staff are phenomenal! The wait staff is incredible and get the ball rolling by making great recommendations and keep the food and drink coming!

This place has been an annual stop for my husband and I. Every year it is fantastic, food, service and atmosphere. A fantastic place to have a more relaxed sushi experience with knowledgeable wait staff.
