Description: Since 1997, Jimmy’s has been Aspen’s neighborhood restaurant and bar, the kind of comfortable restaurant where you can dine again and again. Ask any local, and you will hear that Jimmy’s is an “Aspen Institution.” The menu has something for everyone, from the fresh-squeezed margaritas and the “locally-priced” bar menu to the famous crab cakes, USDA prime steaks, and fresh fish. “The menu is designed to feature the finest in American cuisine without being pretentious, served in an energetic atmosphere,” says proprietor (and local) Jimmy Yeager. The energy at Jimmy’s is what really draws a crowd; the bar is nearly always jam-packed and the dining room lively with activity and a mix of interesting people. The welcoming staff provide the best in top-notch hospitality. Jimmy's is "home" for a large community of locals and tourists alike. Plus, it’s the only place in town to experience the steamy rhythms of salsa and tango every Saturday night at 11.

I ate here one evening and ordered the filet. The steak was actually one of the best fillets I've had. Before my meal came, or between bites, I was reading all the signatures on the wall to see which famous people had been there. I suggest Jimmy's for a nice meal

The food was good, we split the surf and turf. The steak was cooked perfectly and the crab cake (aka the surf) was more crab than cake which is the way I like it! This is a restaurant that has big portions, so you can split a plate and leave full, but not stuffed! They do charge $4 to split... More

I cannot complain at all about the food or the drinks, but you get what you pay for. Some friends recommended this restaurant. It was a bit loud inside. Prime rib was good. Strong margaritas. Would go back again.

We ventured into Jimmy's on our last night in Aspen, the food was ok. We had the surf and turf and although it was good, it was not great. We loved the ambiance in their dinning room, very comfortable and enjoyed it very much. I would visit again on our next trip there and sample other items on their menu.

I was so looking forward to eating at Jimmy's after reading many great reviews, so it was very disappointing when the food we had at Jimmy's was extremely average! We ordered the platter of baby lamb chops and crab cakes, and neither were noteworthy in the least. They weren't bad, but they weren't good... But for the price you pay,... More

Short version: Food is good. Service is okay. Customer friendly NOT and prices high When asked to split our check among the four couples, the waiter brought us a calculator and told us to do it ourselves. Local manager came over, when we objected, and made us itemize the bill for each couple and she then ran separate bills. I... More

While I do appreciate the time you took to write this review of us online, I did handle this matter personally and I'd like to express our side of the story. As I mentioned several times at your table, I do apologize that our policy not to provide itemized checks for large parties was inconvenient for you. Your waiter did... More

We went to Jimmy's with a group of 12 people. The service was good. I was told that the steaks and crab cakes were good. My caesar salad had 6 small romaine lettuce leaves, dressing, and two dry croutons. I added shrimp, which were pretty good, but cost $14 for 4 shrimp, so my salad was $26. A little extreme... More

I had a delicious dinner here in Aug. 2014. The only negative was the wine recommended in substitution for what we ordered which was unavailable, The server said he was a somelier but also said he didn't study to become one (so how could he be one?) The replacement wine was presented as something worth much more than what we... More

Hello TP, Thank you for taking the time to review Jimmy's. I am glad to hear you greatly enjoyed our food, but I am very disappointed you were dissatisfied with our wine service. Based on your review, it is a little unclear exactly what happened and I would love to discuss it with you personally. Your feedback helps us solve... More

Food was good. Over priced for what you receive. The atmosphere was loud and hard to carry on a conversation with anyone at our table.

Pricey menu, okay food. Service was decent, atmosphere good. Filet was tender, but tasteless. Salmon was okay flavor, but dry.
