Had a late lunch there yesterday after a tiring morning of condo rental hunting and took a chance on this place which provides easy (and free) parking. Our lunches were excellent and the potato salad superb. We asked our waitress about the banana cream pie with white chocolate and she described it as a piece of heaven. It was. Additionally,... more

Food here is generally good, the ribs are the best i've tasted, caesar salad pre made and stored in the fridge so very soggy. Me and my husband continued to go back to Hickory House and 'cherry picked' the food they did best.....however on our last visit I ordered a Brownie Sundae (on the menu it said it was served... more

Not our best dinner in Aspen. If you dont mind having your meal served on a paper plate on a pie plate and having to shout to have a converstaion over the noise of the place, then maybe you can put up with slow service, tough and tasteless chicken and over-sauced ribs. The price is right and portions large. the... more

We visited Hickory House for dinner on the 23rd of Sept. We had already visited a place called Little Annie's Eating House (yuck, don't go there) and were a little scared to try another affordable place in Aspen. We were happy to see a cute little log building with this great smell coming from it. I was a bit worried... more

Here's a great alternative to all of the over-priced restaurants in Aspen; http://www.hickoryhouseribs.com/a.aspen.takeout.html. Call in your order for some of the best ribs I've had in quite a while. Take your order back to your hotel or condo, or have them deliver it to your door. It is a great little pig feast! I had the half rack of baby... more

This was our 5th time in Aspen, but our 1st time at the Hickory House. It is now our favorite restaurant in Aspen for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Their baby back ribs are fantastic, perfect, meaty, tender, delicous. I had 1/2 slab for breakfast with the most delicious pancake I can ever remember eating. Their bacon is great too. Once... more

Touted as the "Best Ribs in Colorado", we had high hopes for dinner. However, none of the food excelled. The ribs in particular were just plain, old ribs and ran on the thin side. They were fairly tender, and the two sauces were both pretty good. Nothing about this meal was bad (other than the Mott's applesauce in a plastic... more

when you're in the moode for BBQ, this is the spot to go. A local prank was executed flawlessly when the bear on top of the building was stolen and the showed up one day a few weeks later. more

Our group joined toward the tail end of the lunch serving hours the week of Memorial Day. Though they told us the kitchen was about to close, they indicated that they would serve us. We were thereafter pleased that we received good attention--kudos merited. Everything was good. I would shy away from the "best I have ever had" designation for... more

If you want a nice hearty breakfast before you hit a day at the slopes, this is the place for you. Plenty of selection, and everything is super-sized. Be ready to eat! more
