We arrived early in Aspen and wanted to eat breakfast before skiing. We tried finding a couple of others in downtown Aspen and couldn't locate them. So we googled breakfast in Aspen and "Hickory House" came up as one of the more popular places to go for breakfast. I ordered sausage gravy and biscuits. Being from the south, I was... More

I am not a big fan of BBQ food so I am not here to review that, but if you want a good American breakfast, well done, at a reasonable price (in a town where reasonable prices are not the norm), then this is it. Bottomless coffee and delicious pancakes, and all the egg dishes are a treat. Love this... More

Went here on recommendation from a coworker, and greatly enjoyed it. I ordered the #1 combo, which combined baby back ribs and brisket. Definitely a large plate of food, the ribs were awesome. Also came with choice of potato (potato salad, au gratin, or fries), baked beans, and coleslaw. With a beer, tax, and tip total bill was $30.

If you gave had southern bbq, you won't be satisfied. Pulled pork was tough at not that tasty. BBQ beans were plain. Onion rings were alittle soggy.

The owner of the Tyrolean Lodge suggested the Hickory House as one of three place to eat in Aspen (the other two were Finbarrs' Irish Pub and Little Annie's eating house). A skiing buddy and I went there on our second evening in Aspen after having skiied the Highlands bowl in absolutely perfect conditions - We truly deserved a steak... More

What a place to eat, we had lunch, it was amazing. Food was cooked great, nice portions. The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The location is out a bit, but well worth the walk. Lots of old skiing antiques on the walls. Will be back for sure, also take away delivered to you.

Delicious BBQ. Onion rings to change you mind about onion rings! And be ready to get there early or late. Very popular. With no reservations, which is appropriate, the peak time for dinner can be busy. But then, you get to meet some very interesting folks.

the HH is a must visit when you are visiting Aspen. It is the essence of a ski town's best and if you are a fan of the southern type BBQ meal this restaurant will rank along with the top in that area.

The Hickory House is one of those restaurants that becomes an institution in your home town. It's just that to me in Aspen. There are many good BBQ restaurants in the area but the only one where I eat ribs is the Hickory House. Eat them dry with the sauces on the side applying as much or little as your... More
