Secreted in the basement in a small alley this little latin restaurant has the ability to be very special. On the night we dined here we felt the tortilla soup a poor value for $10. The sangria was tasty and so was the chile stuffed with chicken. We will give it a second try.

The restaurant is in a basement and is well appointed - colorful. The staff were distracted and not very attentive. The food was very expensive & just okay. The ceviche was bleh, the sopes were okay and while the short-rib dish was good - at $24, it was a very small portion making it pricey even for Aspen.

I love Zocalito. We go every year when we come to Aspen. Their mojitos and margaritas are delicious. The service is always excellent. They are attentive without being overbearing. We like sitting in the booths closer to the front. You feel like you are in your own little Hispanic world, with people striding by, dropping good food on pretty plates... More

we wanted to love this place. but instead - found it to be an interesting meal. and that is about it. the guacamole with the 'crickets' was good; the chicken soup really good; the pork tenderloins were smokey and good - but the mole sauce was too spicy and the potatoes that went with them just ok; the scallops -... It was our first family visit to Zocalito & we'd gladly go again. Our ages ranged from 70 to 4, and happily, all four of us liked absolutely everything we ordered. For the 4-year-old, the kitchen was happy to prepare whatever she liked best (plain baked chicken pieces and a cheese sandwich). The wait staff was beyond mere friendliness--they had... More

Zocalito is undoubtedly the most delicious and authentic Mexican food restaurant in the aspen valley. The staff is knowledgable, friendly and attentive. The ambiance is without comparison, you immediately feel as if you're steeping into interior Mexico as you descend the steps of zocalito. Finally, the cocktails are delicious, best mojitos in town. Being from Texas, I can honestly say... More

This is the 2nd time we've been here since last year. The menu is good and the food surpasses expectations and is better than 90% of other mexican fare. the whole family ate there and our food, sauces and originality were good. I'd go there again next year too.

Excellent original food, reasonable prices and great attentive service. Food is not Mexican, so don't expect that.

We visited Zocalito after reading the good reviews on Tripadvisor. We were quite disappointed. The restaurant was nearly empty at 7:30pm when many other restaurants were bookrd out. That should have rung alarm bells. The food was very average and overpriced for the quality. There was nothing Latin about the feel of the place either. The service staff were nice... More
