Wonderful Experience!

My wife and I tracked down Zocalito's after hearing about it from another hotel guest at the Limelight. It is not easy to find. It is in the middle of a block in an alley and then down some stairs, but well worth the effort! We were not disappointed and our expectations were high! Mac tends the... read more

Every time I am in Aspen I stop in here. Matt and Neil are great bartenders. Always make the evening fun! The grasshoppers (chapulines) and guacamole is so tasty. The chips and salsa are the best in town. The rellenos are delicious as is the Aztec soup.

Good for informal, easy Mexican. Don't expect anything special, especially if you live in California and eat good Mexican often - but its good, solid food and the service is prompt yet also easy going. Went for a quick meal after a day on the slopes. Had a few beers, some cocktails and with that, a couple of appetizers and... More

Ok, this restaurant is down some shabby stairs in a basement-level space. But you forget all of that once the food comes. As the spice lover in our duo, I had the hanger steak with mole. Asked the server if he would bring some extra hot sauce, but he said "wait and try it first." And was he right. Hot,... More

Had the veggie chili rellenos, salsa and gauc, and a margarita. The margarita wasn't great, the salsa and gauc were more like a soup than a dip, but still tasty. The rellenos was good and spicy. Odd spot with odd service, but not bad.

Found it down in the basement down the alley. Excellent fantastic and really great interesting food, PLUS, the staff is super fun starting with Matt-Chuck behind the bar. Can't wait to get back!!!

Zocalito is one of Aspen's hidden gems - an insider place frequented by locals serving some of the finest food in the city. The quality and authenticity of the food is consistently inspiring, and the prices are among the most affordable in this town. Highly recommended!

The colorful outdoor seating in the street median got my attention, but we chose this restaurant for the menu. We were not disappointed. Varied menu with some Mayan and one Peruvian dish. Loved my slow cooked tamales and the mojito. Everyone in our party loved their food. Not particularly pricey considering it's not burgers and in downtown Aspen.

Really enjoyed the patio here. The inside is a bit dreary but the food is really tasty. We loved the shrimp ceviche and the tamales. The mojitos are also really tasty too!

This is a great off the beaten path place for a delicious dinner or apres ski drink and appetizer. The chicken chile relleno is awesome and their take on guac and salsa and chips is fabulous!
