Unique, Fun Aspen Experience

An Aspen friend said we are going to a dive for lunch. We thought a what where? Well, it is a dive, but a fun, off beat place with good casual food, with appropriately surly servers. Plenty of bikers, bicycles that is, and like minded diners having a good time.

Heard about Woody Creek Tavern from local resident and surprised my fellow travellers when it was my turn to choose where we went to eat that night. Took two local, free, buses, with no waiting and arrived there in 20 mins from downtown Aspen. Fantastic service at the speed of light, and great atmosphere with loads of old photos of... More

You will never forget your Woody Creek Tavern experience! This is on the opposite end of the traditional scale for Aspen. Fancy it is not, but you are guaranteed to enjoy. The location is a short drive from downtown Aspen, and well worth the effort. Casual does not begin to describe the setting. It's the overall sensory overload that will... More

This was the perfect spot for lunch. You can't go wrong with a place filled with Hunter S. Thompson pictures, old cowboys at the bar, and delicious food and drinks.

We had a very nice lunch here. The waitress was very nice and the food was very good. They had indoor and outdoor seating. It was a nice ride over there from Aspen too. I would eat here again.

We took the regional bus from our front door in Snowmass to the Woody Creek Tavern along Woody Creek just north of Aspen. It is a wild and fun place with outdoor dining in the summer. The bar is small but cozy. The blue agave margs are to die for. The place is stuffed with memoribila. The service is quick... More

One of the best places I have dined at in the Aspen area. The food was great and the drinks were even better. Friendly atmosphere and phenomenal staff. No trip to Aspen is complete without stopping here.

I've been going here for over 20 years and finally got around to writing a review. Amazing eclectic vibe and great bar food. Add the fact that it's out of the way and hard to find and you have the makings of a legendary venue. Drink in the footsteps of Hunter S. Thompson as you kill a few more brain... More
