Lovely intimate bistro

This is a great little place in Aspen for dinner. They have a good menu, and the food and ambiance are great. Try to get a table away from the door to avoid cold breezes.

The Wild Fig is a small restaurant with a bar and round and rectangular tables. The tables were covered with crisp, white tablecloths and blue and white napkins. Small candles decorated the tables. There was a neatly written menu on the wall, but none of the dishes listed were available on the menu. We have dined at the a Wild... More

Our dinner at the Wild Fig had some highs and lows. The fig salad was delicious, but at a restaurant with fig in the name, the fig salad needs to have more than three small pieces of fig. My fiancee and I shared, so having only three figs was even more glaring. The mussels were ok, but the coconut curry... More

Took my family to dinner on Wednesday, March 18 and I spent the next 24 hours in misery. Doctor confirmed that I was poisoned by either spoiled food or unsanitary habits (feces) on the hands of the food preparers. The concierge in our hotel is going to warn other diners. The board of health should shut these guys down.

The menu is not entirely French, but we felt as if we were in a Paris bistro. My saddle of lamb with spices and raisins was wonderful, my partner loved her calf's liver and we fought over our shared pineapple and pear dessert served with what had to be home made ice cream. In short, our best evening in Aspen.... More

This small downtown Aspen restaurant was indeed a delight. My group of five confirmed foodies/ wine lovers enjoy our meals and the service immensly. With our recommended reservation we were seated within a couple of minutes of arrival, this was a good thing as the dining room is quite small and cozy. As for my food I started with a... More

As we came in we had a very poor impression. We hung up our own coats and the receptionist had her back to us as she said rudely "name please?". The food was no better then the service. The soup tasted exactly as if from a tin. The salad was limp from premature dressing.  Entrées overcooked: variously tough, too soft... More

Everything fine dining should be. The place is small and adorable. Our server, Ashe, was great, friendly and informative. We had the fish of the day, Bronzino. It was wonderful, delectable and buttery. Amazing, the best we have ever had. We also had the linguini with seafood. I found myself sopping up the sauce with the bread and when that... More

This is a very fine restaurant that served some excellent dishes-- cauliflower soup, seafood and pasta, steak tratare were all notable. You eat well here at a reasonable price for Aspen. To be highly recommended.

We had a lovely dinner at The Wild Fig. The restaurant is small with tables set up quite close to each other but it is decorated in a charming, European style and the food and service make up for the lack of space. I had the Veal Scaloppine, which had an amazing caper/lemon sauce. It was about the best I... More
