After spending the week in Alamosa we were looking for someplace that we hadn't been to for lunch. We decided to try Oscars I tried the buffet instead of ordering off the menu. That decision proved to be a wise one. The food on the buffet had a very good spiciness to it which is unusual for buffet food. The... More

I love Oscar's. I eat here at least once a week. Their food is homemade and fresh. I like the buffet which is a great value, includes all you can eat plus 2 enchiladas, a drink, and desserts. The food is consistently good. The owners are always there overseeing the food preparation. The service is fast and friendly. They even... More

My daughters and I used to go to Oscar's before their original building burned down, but I hadn't been there in years since they rebuilt in a new location. My husband and I decided to try them gain after a lesuirely morning at the local farmer's market. Oscar's kindly allows them to use their parking lot area. The restaurant is... More

Excellent value. On a trip from Vail to Santa Fe, this was probably the first decent town to stop at for food. The atmosphere was nice, clean, and decor befitting its menu. Not where I would go for dinner out for a big occasion, but a nice place for lunch , good food reasonably priced with average service.

On a road trip, my family passed through Alamosa twice. On the strength of reviews, we ate at Calvillo's the first time. On the way back, we ate at Oscar's -- and it was better. Oscar's has nice decor inside and out, and the restrooms are clean, but most importantly, the food is really tasty! If I had to knock... More

Maybe there's not that much you can do with a guacamole tostada, but I could have made this at home with more flair. Shredded iceberg lettuce, shredded cheddar, sour cream ... all standard stuff. Guacamole was pretty good. I figured that ANYWHERE in a place like Alamosa would produce something better than I could fin in Baton Rouge, but I... More

Good traditional mexican food! Our waitress brought around the fresh tacos for the buffet and took good care of our large 12 person group. Some ordered the buffet and others off the menu, everyone was pleased. Great green chili!

On our trip to Alamosa on a long road trip this hit the spot after a fun day at the Great Sand Dunes. Let's start with what was good. The pros: My child's tamales were absolutely fabulous. He is a picky eater and I tried it. The service was terrific. My other child's kids burrito was good (according to him... More

My wife passed though Alamosa, an ate a late lunch on the was to Taos. We had no service on our smartphone, so could not check TA, so we settled on the most promising place on the main drag in town. The place was huge, the decor was ok, and the menu was pretty average. We decided on the buffet.... More
