Ranked #2 of 47 restaurants in Alamosa
Price range: $2 - $8
Cuisines: Bakery, Coffee Shop, Healthy, Bagels
Description: Milagros Coffehouse, in the heart of downtown Alamosa, serves fair trade organic coffees and teas - you gotta try the exotic lattes for sure. Meal items include healthy wraps, great soups, interesting quiches, breakfast burritos with homemade green chilie and excellent baked goods - both savory and sweet. Friday - Sunday a local grower/chef named Friend cooks hot and hearty breakfasts from 8am-1pm. The atmosphere is comfortable and enhanced by local art displays that change each month. Internet is free, a few computers are available for use and a good selection of used books is available to read or purchase. The coolest thing about Milagros, however, is that every bit of the profit goes toward local charities! It is a very pleasurable way to give to those in need in the San Luis Valley!

We got there right after 11:00 a.m., so we were the first lunch orders of the day. The lunch menu had about a dozen items on it from which I chose the fish tacos (2) ($7.95), and my husband chose the hamburger ($8.95). He also had a coffee, which is their specialty. It is comparable in strength to Peet's. He... More

Truly enjoyed two different visits to Milagros. First of all, all profits support a local cause, can't remember the name of it. Secondly, fun atmosphere with used book and gift sales, inspiring quotes artistically painted on the walls and friendly staff. Last but not least, good coffee and food! The Reuben panini was good. Pastries were also good. All the... More

Spacious, informal coffee shop in downtown Alamosa. A very nice change from the student/computer heavy places in Austin. And all for a good cause. A very good latte, and so-so (a bit weak) dark roast coffee. Give them a try...

We stopped here just to grab a cup of coffee en route north and found it a pleasant surprise in a small town. Not just good coffee, but a delicious cinnamon bun and very pleased to learn that all profits go to a local charity. Goodness all around.

This coffee shop makes the best coffee drinks - go for an Americano and taste the pure goodness of the coffee they serve. The chocolate chip cookie was delicious. Driving through Alamosa, you can't miss this coffee shop right on the main street. Friendly staff. Restroom available.

Great lattes in a convenient downtown location. The service is a little slow, but the end result is delicious. Prices are reasonable.

We like to give them business when driving thru from the Colorado Front Range to Taos or Ojo Caliente. It is handy to have wifi while on the road and the coffee is good. The food is always OK and sometimes really good but inconsistent. Nice place for a snack and donates to a his cause.

The coffee was great, the idea and non profit idea is very cool. However I would stay away from the food. The breakfast burrito was tiny. Would have been 6 bites if it had been edible at all. The filling, supposedly eggs, potatoes, green chilli and bacon were actually unifentifiable mush. The green chilli it was smothered in was more... More

Stopped in for lunch during a recent trip to Alamosa and despite it being eclectic in a hodge podge college sort of way, the food was tasty and service was quick. Nice folks behind the counter. An old upright piano sits in the room, couches and tables. Neat!

Excellent selection of coffee drinks and superb service. Well worth the stop. It's a non-profit that supports various needs in the San Luis Valley so you are doing double duty with each purchase.
