Great Local Beer

I had the IPA, which was hoppy without being too assertive. We also tried a guest tap chocolate stout that tasted like chocolate milk! The service was so friendly, even though we were a large, loud group!

Met an old college chum here for lunch and was darn good. Pretty varied menu, basic pub grub but great bison burgers and tasty variety of beers. Very casual, comfortable and solid service.

The half-pound burgers were outstanding, especially with the chipotle bbq sauce. The beers were good and solid, nothing that would blow you away. The IPA was the best. The pale ale has a distinct English flavor to it and is easy to drink. I really enjoyed the chili beer. Although lighter, the chili flavor was perfect, not overpowering like some... More

We loved eating at the San Luis Valley Brewing Co. We ordered burgers and ribs, and each meal was delicious! Highly recommend!

My husband love his but the only vegetarian option, a portobello mushroom sandwich was terrible. Nice atmosphere but hard wooden chairs to sit on, we had been in the car all day and would have preferred some cushion, even the booths were wood.

If I had rated this place on food/beer only it would have received 4.5 stars. However, the service rates a 1- The waitstaff looks bored and unhappy and it takes forever to get food delivered to your table. If you are patient this is the place for you.

I ordered the Colorado bison chili soup and the crab cakes. The soup was very delicious but the crab cakes disappointed a bit but the size was enormous for an appetizer. There's a lot of noise at this place but otherwise a good bar like atmosphere. The price for the soup was fair but for the crab cakes very expensive... More

Service was friendly, but easily distracted. Forgot my appetizer, rang up the wrong cut of meat for my sister. The beer was good, we had the Hefe Suave. Food was average at best. Coming from Chicago I am used to our gastro pubs and breweries offering top notch and specialty entrees. The ribeye was tough, the mountain trout was fishy.... More

Friendly greeting, immediate seating, pleasant surroundings. Respectful selection of in house beers and a very reasonable menu with prices that don't make you want to cry. Superb service all the way around and everyone really enjoyed their meal. Bonus: they cook your burger as requested to a tee.

I was in town for a week, and I came here with a group of my classmates each time. They brew their own beer, and they have a variety. I'm a cider girl, and they don't have any ciders at this time. All the food was good and service was good, but not anything particularly out of the ordinary. My... More
