I've eaten here several times. There is usually a wait, but the food is great and so is the service. There is a LOT of food, so you'll probably bring some home.

I have been going here since I was a small child and the place has maintained its high standard of excellent food and huge portions. The atmosphere is part of the appeal and if you have never eaten here, you are really missing out. From the incredible house salads to the seafood and steaks, everything is great, but if that... Our Feelings: STEAKS seem to be a lower quality than they used to be. We have been there on a regular basis over the years, but we do order steaks anymore. SERVICE is almost always good. PARKING - lots of space. We DO NOT GO THERE ANYMORE we are sorry to say because it just seems to have gone down... More

I have been to this restaurant many times throughout my life time. Their food is awesomely delicious and consistant. The atmosphere is fun, they are known for eating peanuts in the waiting/bar area as you throw the shells on the grown. The lighting is dim so if you need a lot of lighting this is not the place for you.... More

We have been to Northwoods Inn many times and it never disappoints. The restaurant resembles a log cabin with snow on the roof in the middle of Southern Cal! The interior is dimly lit for ambiance. You are served a bowl of peanuts when you are seated and you can simply toss the peanut shells on the floor as you... More

As I write this review I can almost smell all the aromas of the restaurant's interior: peanut shells and sawdust, rice pilaf and cheese bread and char-grilled steak. Delicious! I've eaten here more years than I care to say, and it never seems to change. To some that's not a good thing, but I like it just fine. Love to... More

Northwoods Inn looks like a mountain chalet as you approach the door and the theme carries on inside. When your name is called (almost always a wait) you are directed to head over to the potbellied stove to be seated. The signature cheese toast and salad, included with any entree, are just a hint of the good things to come.... More

We don't make to L.A. often but when we do, we make a point of heading to Northwoods Inn. Their garlic cheese bread is the best thing on the face of the planet and the red cabbage salad is amazing. Walking in takes you away from the rush of today and hurls you back to a much simpler (and tastier)... More

Travel into a mountain type lodge atmosphere where they bring you peanuts and you throw the shells on the floor. Excellent food....especially love the red cabbage slaw and the cheesebread. They serve dinners with rice pilaf and a huge baked potato. We usually pay the split plate charge and share an entrée. It is always my first choice for a... More

They have a unique menu. I so enjoy both the cabbage salad, iceberg lettuce salad and that wonderful cheese bread. When visiting in this area, we always make it a point to eat at least one meal here. I know the lobster meal is rather pricey but with all the trimmings I think it's fair. We've never had a bad... More
